Maybe I need to remind you of some of the disaster games Butch coached in pre-2000 and his consistent 8-4 record at UNC.

Reality CMR has been a pretty good ambassador for the program and is facing a crossroad. He needs to make wholesale changes on the offensive side of the ball, become a true CEO and rein Manny in/prioritize Defensive recruiting more. To me the solution is obvious and it's not BBB!

Couldn't the same be said for Butch.

Also i believe Mack Brown made UNC a 9-10 win teams a couple of times before he went to Texas didn't he?

Love Butch for what he did 20-25 years ago, but just like the rest of our legacy it's in the past and the game isn't the same.

I get your point, and I'm sure you get mine too. Success at a lower tier program doesn't mean much. Sure, Davis did well here 20ish years ago, but football has changed a lot.

I mean, Richt's offense won national championships in the 90's, but look at him now. He has no business calling offensive plays anymore. The game moves on and leaves people behind.

I know what you're saying but.. butch was never gonna call plays here

he had some guy who's a head coach or was ( I hardly follow the nfl anymore ) at the colts last I checked

Exactly. No more legacies: Coker ruined what Snellenberger, Jimmie, Erickson and Butch built, Shannon was worse, and now Richt is on course to be the worst. Only exception might be Cristobal.

Society and therefore the game (players) is changing radically even from a few years ago. We need a young visionary coach who can relate to this new gen. Of players and be real creative with staffing, recruiting, play calling, etc.

The thing is, some of us are not so retarded that we can't remember that we also suffered 31 scholarship losses - and realized that there were years we didn't even have enough players for a scrimmage.

Look at the record at UNC before he got there - and look at what he was going to open his last season with - until the UNC-established crip courses caused a ruckus - and UNC fired Butch to take the heat off of them - when Butch didn't have anything to do with it.

I don't want a damned Ambassador.

I want a hungry, kick-*** football coach.

Butch can recruit at Miami better than anyone anywhere. Mark is has *** recruiter. Apparently neither can coach worth a crap. The difference is with 4 years of butch’s recruits we have two NFL teams, one on the field and one on the bench waiting to get on the field. What will have next year after Mark’s four?

Under Jimmy Johnson, Butch left every Thursday to evaluate and recruit. And he did GOOD!
