-Chud, if he did come, would be a stop-gap. He wants the NFL.

-Strong stripes have finally shown and I don't want to hear what he did in the AAC conference....what is he doing at a P5 school?

-Schiano is too busy screaming and turning red, but at least he would bring some sort of structure to this program.

-Herman, I like; yes, he's coaching in the AAC, but he has a ring as an OC, calling plays, running a unit, and Urban gave him autonomy in doing so. He comes from a great coaching stock.

-Butch, gets me giddy b/c I KNOW FOR A FACT, he would not only save the 2016 class, he'll bring instant credibility back to the U (side note, in talking w/ my source at Nike, had Golden been canned and Butch or another credible coache hired, they would've offered somewhere between Bama and FSU to keep us)

-Mario.....WHY THE F IS THIS CHUMP'S NAME STILL DOING IN THIS CIRCLE OF CANDIDATES??! 27-47 at FIU and he's a position coach...he's not even calling plays!

The real list should be: Group A-Gundy, Patterson, Herman, Kelly/Group B-Davis, Schiano, Chud, Richt/Group C-Barbers, Leach, Strong

No Freakin' Mario or Kiffin, or any other lames out there.

Butch - Safe hire that can will make this program a perennial top 10 team and give this program much needed long term stability
Chud - Moderate risk given he has never been in charge of a College program but huge upside, more so than in Candidate except Herman. His NFL experience combined with his deep ties with the program are intriguing.
Schiano- Moderate risk given his polarizing personality is offset by his high football acumen. He can either make a lot of friends in South Florida or a lot of enemies. Also his gimmicky "chop wood" ploy smells a lot like the stuff Golden used to do.
Strong- High Risk hire. His lack of success at UT is concerning given the resources at his disposal. Great coaches have gone into worse situations and won by their 2nd year. His UL stint is fools gold like Golden's Temple stint was. If not for Bridgewater falling into his lap, he'd still be at UL trying to get his first 9 win season.
Herman- Moderate risk but real high ceiling. Only concern would be a short lived stay at Miami if he has immediate success.
Cristobal - High Risk given he's unproven. His FIU experience while good, not anything special. He really needs to cut his teeth somewhere else and prove himself. And anyone can recruit south

Bottom line all coaches above can win here some more than others and above and beyond better than any of our last 3 coaches.

Yeah, this is media guesswork. There are other names on the list, which I'm guessing isn't complete or there was no need to hire Korn Ferry to search. There is a lot of work still to be done. The media has to report something.

Richt has always had strong talent. He just can't put it together to win big. More importantly he's not a cultural fit.
