So far, most of the talk (rightfully so IMO) has been centered around guys like Herman and Fuente who are offensive-minded coaches who can score points in gobs. We've of course talked about Butch who is a "defensive coach" but probably wouldn't call his own defensive plays necessarily. So, who you think are the Defensive Coordinators we should go after in the new regime, whatever it may be?

Kirby Smart
Barnett from MichSt.
Orgeron or maybe Kevin Steele from LSU
Pruitt

Of course Randy has a top 5 def at UF, but that's not gonna happen

I don't know much about these guys, other than they've had some good defenses.

Jim.webp

He's rotting at Colorado because some ***** player said he hit him.

No way most of those guys make lateral (at best) moves here. I don't think Orgeron would be invited back.

Orgeron has never been a DC
Randy isn't the DC of UF

Beamer will probably be done at season end. Not sure if they will hand over the reigns to Foster or look abroad for new blood.

That dude is one of my favorite coaches in the game. Maybe past his prime but i always wondered what he could do with this kind of talent.

Lorenzo Ward from USCe maybe?

Dave Aranda at Wisc?

I'm just throwin out DC names here. Guys that have had some success, but don't know if they're viable HC candidates or not.

Don't want as a CEO, but give me a DC that has worked under Dantonio or Narduzzi.

I'm thinking an old vet like Don Brown at BC or Dave Huxtable at NC State. An outside-the-box name could be Nate Woody at App. State (currently 7th in total defense in the NCAA.)

Well Orgeron is a defensive coach that's been a head coach and RS is a co-coordinator, so I thought I'd mention them for discussion.

IF Herman gets the nod, Orlando is the obvious choice and he'd be an amazing hire, IMO.

I'm not sure who would have to be hired to make it happen but Dave Aranda is a great DC. He might get a HC job soon.
