Not necessarily on here (at least recently), but too many times bouncing back and forth between sites and chatting with co-workers and whatnot, I have to hear or read "But look what he did at Temple".

I'll be the first to admit it was impressive. At least until I seen him coach for the University of Miami. These past 4 seasons as our head coach have completely killed the impressiveness of the job he did there.

Look, my parents were impressed the first time I **** on a toilet and wiped my own ***. They made a whole big fuss of it. But now they expect it every time. If I show up for Thanksgiving in two days and **** in my pants at the dinner table, I'm going to get "fired" from the table. My mom or dad aren't going to step in and say, "He needs more time at the dinner table. You should see what an excellent job he done in our bathroom."

In conclusion, Golden needs to learn to wipe his own *** "again", or he needs to go somewhere else and **** in his pants. I'm tired of the team I love so much smelling like his ****.

Not really following the whiping *** and turkey example and how that relates to coaching. But OK

Happy thanksgiving and I hope you do not **** on yourself

I think in terms of Al's "coaching", ****ting in one's pants is the best analogy out there.

Golden has failed here and I want him gone as much as anyone, but what he accomplished at Temple is still impressive. That was probably the worst job in D1 football and he made them competitive. It just did not translate to the Miami job.

I get that, it's just less impressive after his tenure here. More or less, maybe I'm just tired of hearing about his "success" at Temple when it hasn't happened here.

And since apparently my analogy didn't click or set in, I don't think his impressive Temple job is reason enough to give him more time.

Could not agree more on the bolded part. We've seen enough at this point to know that he's just not the right guy for the job here. Time to move on.

What did he really do at Temple?

They were a clusterfukk and he took them to AVERAGE

It's not hard to improve a team that goes 0-11 for 3 straight seasons. His best season was 8 wins there.

Lets not forget Temple lost all those games as a member of the Big East. Golden took over the reigns when they fell back to the MEAC.

I've said it before:

0-14 against MAC teams with winning records while at Temple. Nothing he did there suggests he could succeed at a big time program at Miami.

he didn't do anything. they fell into the ******* mac and he made them an average mac team. yup what an amazing job alfred. how does al goldens ******* taste?

What does what Al did at Temple have to do with what he has done here?

Nothing.

This is a top 20 dumbest thread.

He showed he was competent when he was at Temple (IMO also that he was nothing special, it's not like he was stomping his conference), but competent is not enough when you're trying to win titles.

LOL at you thinking I'm a Golden fan. I thought he should have been fired immediately after the bowl game last year and have been pretty vocal about it on this board. That doesn't mean I can't recognize that he did a nice job building the Temple program. Anyone who knows anything about that program understands that it was the ebola of college football jobs. Again, that has no bearing on what I think of the job he has done at Miami. It is obvious that he is failing here and if our administration gave two ***** about football he would be gone by now.

I think some people here just don't know how bad of a program Temple was, how bad of a job that was, and just how close that school was to shutting down the program. Golden didn't like the world on fire with anything in particular there, but he took a team that hadn't won in what seemed like forever and put them back on the map. No he didn't win big games or fare well against the good MAC teams, but what he did was impressive enough to warrant the attention of several schools.

It just hasn't worked here and i don't see anything changing. I can't stand watching that defense and when i see the brakes being put on the offense, sucking the life out of the players, i want to punch the TV. The lack of success here though doesn't change what he did at Temple.

What Golden did at Temple was all fine and dandy...for Temple. ****, we should have known what we were in for after Folden snatched defeat from a 21-10 halftime lead against UCLA in the bowl game.

That is the point. If any of you bet greyhounds, when a dog drops in class because it has finished out to the money to many times, it is very likely to win in the lower class. Then when it moves back up, it gets pounded again. That is Al. If he stays long enough we will be in the MEAC and he can win again.
