If there is a real chance to get him how can you not? Also butch or him are the best two for the job would love either guys write your thoughts on it. How much would we have to pay him and if there's a legitimate chance at getting him here

I do not believe that he is a great coach. Was average and continuaaly losing games that he shouldn't have lost at Oklahoma St. Couldn't believe that he got the LSU job. He then won a BCS National Title (worst team to win in the last 20 years). I felt that he always brought in great talent (whether paying them or the fact that ANY FB PLAYER in the nation can enroll into LSU) but struggles to win the big game.

With all that said, I think he would be better than many that have been brought up on this board, including Charlie Strong!

You want a 62 year old guy that LSU is willing to pay 15 million to go away?

Are people insane?

If someone is paying $15,000,000 to get rid of him, should we think real hard about grabbing him? LSU is firing him because he has not been back the big dance in years. We too fired a coach for that, remember Coker. Is Miami more tolerate of not winning a NC than LSU? Someone will grab him, but I bet it is not a team that needs to win NC to be successful.

Miles is getting pushed out because he can't beat Nick Saban. And for all of you Dolphans out there, his OC (Cam Cameron) has been a joke for years. His defenses have always been great, but their offense has been vanilla and uninnovative (made that up). I'd love Les Miles down here with a different O. Butch is still my #1 tho.

i would be worried that les couldn't get it done down here. isn't going to have the same advantages he did coaching at LSU. can't buy recruits, can't get everyone through admission (travonte valentine), won't be able to access to the money for the assistants to make up for his shortcomings, and can't get away with not devloping qbs. i would take chip kelly or butch over him. I would think that in order for miles to succeed down here, he would need A) money to hire top assistants and B) given more ADish responsibilities. The difference between saban an shula at bama is that saban demands complete control over that program. a real don't ask no questions about how i'm running and building the team philosophy.

Just for the sake of accuracy, Larry was fired for going 5-4 not because he hadn't gotten back to the NC.

And for the sake of accuracy Les Miles is being fired for having a lower win percentage and lower bowl win percentage than Coker had.

Sorry, 6-6. Which makes you wonder how al survived last year...

Larry's last year is kinda similar to Les'. they already have 3 losses in a year that the entire SEC other than UF and Bama are down. can't forget that he didn't lose that much talent last year either other than that tackle.

Wow, I had no idea Larry had better stats Les. Boy, it is wonderful what a bunch of Butch recruits can do for somebody. But again to bump the ante on the accuracy, I thing Larry was fired for the FIU fight. I doubt the DONNA THE B....CH cared about the 5-4 at all. She liked that losing stuff.

Compared to Larry, Les has got a longer record of success, hasn't won fewer than 8 games (unless he doesn't get 1 more win this year) in the last 11 years, and has done it (mostly) with players he recruited. Personally, I don't want him at Miami (if for no other reason than that he looks like an *******), but we could certainly do worse.

but we could certainly do worse.

That is all you had to say really.
People are ripping on him but he would be the best coach in the ACC by a mile as soon as he steps on campus. And the Defense would probably be the best in the Nation before his 3rd season in South Florida.

Yeah, I don't want to get into the mindset that getting a coach that is better than al is good enough, but it's getting ridiculous. People are acting like very good coaches, the kind we haven't had at Miami in a decade and a half are terrible. I get that Les and Richt aren't most people's first or possibly 3rd choice, but lets stop acting like they're terrible and we would clearly be screwed with them. I mean ****, mario could come here an...never mind, he'd suck.
