Also, we bag on this kid a lot, me included. But this is a concern for me. I think we’ll be OK at DT, but this dude did have explosive plays and I’m not sure we have anyone on the roster who has these type of ceiling plays in their range of outcomes.
This is a perfect look for fsu. They execute it perfectly, and it’s a walk-in TD if not for 56 just ragdolling the center. 81 gets mushed, as usual. The pulling tackle erases the backer. The backside backer is late and is sealed. This is a massive gain, but 56 wins, and it’s a TFL. And this is where we need to be careful with “their OL stinks”, too. They all executed flawlessly here, but LT makes a play one-on-one, and the narrative is, oh they can’t run on us. If he takes this play off, or if anyone else on the roster is in on this play, it’s likely 6 and the narrative is massively different.
Do we have anyone on the current roster who makes this play? Hopefully Barrow is the dude who can replace production like this.
what’s so confusing about Taylor is that he had his moments where he showed up on the field and is a talented player. Just don’t think he took physical training seriously especially in that last year and it hurt him

He had a few plays like that vs clemson in the previous years where he just tossed the lineman multiple times. He flashed for sureThis is the definition of showing up on the field. That’s a big boy play and can be the literal difference in winning or losing football games.
If college coaches mostly watch your 4th quarter plays when you're in a close game (are you THE MAN in crunch time?) or getting whooped (does effort die when you're down 20+?), I imagine NFL coaches do the same.My eyes work and I'm not going to shoot down this play - it was great. However, I will suggest watching the rest of his tape. Spoiler alert: it sucks. Yes he had flashes - just like the one you posted. However, for every flash play like this, there were 5-10 Houdini acts. Watch the second half of Clemson. He got whooped. Repeatedly.
