Off-Topic Left Lane Drivers At 55 MPH

Has anyone thought about what goes through the mind of the muppets who feel it is a Constitutional right to drive in the left lane at 55 mph?

Serious question: when faced with that behavior, can you go full Aston Martin James Bond and deploy the spikes from your rear bumper?

Are the headlight .50 cals too aggressive?

I was confronted by this situation this very morning, except it was on I-75 and a commercial truck in the left lane going exactly 70 mph passing 3 trucks in convoy formation in the right lane traveling roughly 69.5 mph. Especially annoying since I am pretty sure commercial trucks aren't allowed to travel in the left-hand lane on I-95 and I-75 per FDOT regulations.

I wanted to choose violence. Considering something like this when the lease on my current ride expires:

Guilty,

20 years ago the wife and we’re driving on I-75 west coast Florida to Ana Maria Island my brother in law wife’s family has s house on the Beach YES beautiful.

I was in left lane going speed limit a trooper pulled up behind me CLOSE .

I froze constantly checking speed telling wife something is up are we up to date in cars tag and all yes.

I didn’t move over ( I was frozen thinking why) just to let faster traffic by , he lit me up pulled me over.

The wife started in on me BIG TIME like you wouldn’t believe, MY SAVING GRACE SHE WAS.

The trooper after 15 minutes of watching my wife looking at me LETTING MY HAVE in his windshield

Walked up to me and said sir “ I don’t have to heart to give you anymore brow beating then what I witnessed “ and a little smirk showed holding back a belly laugh.

Sir stay out of the left lane if your dawdling down the highway, here’s a warning.

Officer , I think what I’m going to endure after this is enough punishment he left and I saw a shaking of his head probably laughing as he walked away.

To atone for this sin, you need to reflect deeply on your life choices.

We still loce you, but barely.

Brother,

It would have ruined a weekend of relaxation of unknown proportions of refreshments if I got hit with a $200-$300 ticket plus points.

I drove (2) hands on the wheel shoulders reared back a perfect training video Of road safety bobbling my head YES YES I can’t believe I got off from a FLA TROOPER they never let anyone off.

I walked into the beach house saying show me to the liquid mood modifiers .
My brother in law said try some of this smoke it’s guaranteed to relax up NOT.

Most of us were born with the uncanny ability to use the turn signal, veer slightly to the right, and accelerate beyond a slower driver...without blinking an eye, increasing blood pressure, or giving two ***** about another driver, who clearly won't lose any sleep by ****ing you off

Lol
Are there even multi lane roads in South Carolina?

Why would they be muppets in the example above?

I use to teach drivers education. It was awesome. If you know anyone that can’t drive well put ‘em through the serpentine. 60 mins of serpentine will solve many driving problems.

I’m a communist driver. Perhaps socialist. I do what’s best for society as a whole when driving. We all have somewhere to be. Naturally 55 in the left lane is a **** move. I’d also just go around after I checked my blind spot.
Lastly, to those of you that get mad when you let someone in BC they didn’t thank you, **** you. It feels great letting someone in bc it assists them in some small way. I leave space and never wave, in case they or someone else gets igorant and causes an accident. Who needs that dumb liability?

😜🧐

See that stupid **** more and more these days. Drives. Me. Crazy! I get behind them and ride that bumper until they move over.

The other infuriating driving experience is one trucker pulling out to pass another at 1/2 MPH faster then the one being passed.
You are a big man skating on thin ice if they ever hit those brakes with a heavy foot.

Why do you hate me?

At least in Florida, the law requires the driver in the left hand lane being approached by a faster vehicle behind them to move over to the right hand lane and let them pass. It's Florida Statute Section 316.081. So, yes, the law (at least in Florida) is designed to prevent it, and those slow fvckers are violating the law when they don't move on over.

I just learned something new today. I didn’t even know there was such a law.

People that do that, that is the perfect definition of passive aggressive, most of the time, they will drive right at or a few miles under the speed limit and be thinking of themselves I’m sure, “well I don’t need to move over because I’m driving the speed limit or I’m not violating the law.”

These people will hold up traffic with a line of 20 cars behind them, you would think they’d get a clue when finally people can start passing them, and at least half of them flip them off. Which, by the way, is a really bad idea, you never know how crazy somebody is in a car, and what they’re packing. I never lose my shlt when I’m driving

I've learned lately to set my cruise control at 65 on 70 mph highways and just stay in the right lane. Trailer my boat or rv for several hours and it saves me a decent amount of gas. I drive places and maybe have to leave the slow lane 5 or 6 times in a 5 hour drive. I just roll and make people go around me. I'm in the slow lane going slow. If I do move over I match speed and get back into the slow lane asap. It's pretty rare to find people going slower than 5 mph below the speed limit. It costs me half an hour in a 6 hour drive and I'm not ****ed off and chewing antacids the whole drive. Try it, I'm no where near as worn out at the end of my drives. It's a game changer.
Of course if I'm driving my mustang locally I haul ***. People have no idea how little room I need to go around them so all the little stupid games slow left lane drivers play rarely hold me back. Maybe 1% of cars I see on the road can stop me from going around them.. but those guys aren't clogging the left lane. It's almost comical when the asshats try to speed up and block me from going around them. If you don't like me passing you without fully leaving the lane, get the **** out of the way.

I mean if you’re trailering something, it’s probably way unsafe to go much faster than 65 or 70. I’ve seen people lose control so easily, start fishtailing, and then sometimes it’s all over after that - you’re just a passenger observing as the car does what it wants.

I have to admit that sometimes I suffer from get-there-itis and see if I can break my record getting from point A to point B on a multi-hour drive.

More than once I found myself going 90 to 95 on the turnpike, with a group of cars all going about the same speed.

I look down at my speedometer and think, “holy shlt, I wonder how much a ticket would cost at this speed?” Not only that, but at that speed, any wreck is probably fatal, if you have a blowout, you have a **** of a time trying to maintain control.

You'd be surprised at the boats and trailers that pass me at 65. I used to try to do 70 or 75 and the difference is like 3 mpg more when I do 65. It's close to an extra 100 miles traveled per tank of gas. I got pulled trailering my old flats boat at 87 in Georgia and it was over $400. Some ****** wouldn't move out of the fast lane and I raged past him right into a speed trap. I'm pretty sure that's the last ticket I've gotten. I'm just like you, I don't like traffic and want to get there as fast as possible. I can't tell you how much different it is just letting everyone pass you. I rarely have to leave the slow lane and it's glorious. I gotta go visit my Dad tomorrow and I'm going to try it without trailering anything. It'll be interesting to see the people right behind me because usually I can't see them. Of course, just driving around town I'm in the fast lane wishing I had a cow catcher and could just push people out of the way.

Georgia has always been notorious for speed traps
