LK will at least be FUN!! I mean this is where we've gotten to as a program.

Any real desire to win has departed the Administration and we have an AD who is a complete joke! Hires an unproven coach in 3 hours instead of a proper search? Seriously?

I'm not even joking or unsuccessfully attempting to be witty. I actually mean it. If we're not serious about winning, then let's at least get a guy who is going to be fun as **** to watch! Let's hire some stud DC, have LK run the O and see what might happen. At least LK has had some success at FAU.

Who's ready for the Lane Train???

Also, if we don't care about winning, and the Lane Train is unavailable, let's bring Butch back.

Again, it's clear that the Administration doesn't care about winning, so if I'm going to keep watching (and, who'm I kidding...I can't quit da U), let's at least have some fun with it.

Would be better then manny and prob the one of best we can get. He would bolt as soon as he gets a better offer

Pros:
1) Lane has a history of being an elite recruiter.
2) Lane has good coaching connections to assemble a staff.
3) Being at FAU he knows the local area.
4) Typically his offenses have been good, winning titles for Saban & Carroll.
Cons.
1) He's been a total f*cking failure everywhere as a HC except FAU.

All of them or good points, but as you mention, he has been successful at FAU.

This idea is really growing on me, which is the very reason why it won't happen.

Also, I think this might not have the negative impact that we once thought - letting go of a coach after one year. I think it shows we "care about winning" or that's how we'll spin it. Honestly, it doesn't even matter anymore.

Give him the OC bag then

1) I am a bit suspect of anyone being labeled an elite recruiter when Carroll and Saban are in charge. The program was about them.
2) Perhaps, as long as he doesn’t bring his father out of retirement.
3) Ok
4) I’d give Sarkisian was more credit for USC’s offense, and Kiffin was so good Saban fired him. Saban is a **** tho. I’ll grant this.

And, yes, Kiffin is his own failed regime.

1) He recruited at Tennessee as a HC. Pro scouts said he was the truth. Then he recruited bonkers at USC as HC during severe sanctions.

You have a point about your boy Lane. After all, Miami is trending toward the FIU's and Florida International's of the major college football realm. hUh.

Kiffen, under the present AD, would not work. If a new competent AD wants to hire LK then so be it.

I'm in the "what do we have to lose?" phase of Cane grief. Hire LK and it will at least be exciting both on and off the field. Plus, he does know how to run an offense. Who knows??? I'm just in it for the comedy now. Vive la Lane Train!!!

Ummm, Are you guys ******* serious ? If this admin starts to get serious about football again, we need something A LOT better than kiffen. It's okay to suffer from low self-esteem from time to time, just don't make it a head coach.

I know it's fun to wish and wonder, but everyone needs to get used to the fact that Manny isn't leaving anytime soon.

is he making 1.5m?

edit: i looked it up. 950k. id think he'd jump at 1.5m and a chance to raise his profile back to a p5 HC
He's a HC now, thats what he wants to be. He's gonna get another HC shot somewhere. Somewhere like Arizona or USF or maybe even Miami should Manny be let go by a new AD.

Lane with Manny as the DC
Now, that's actually a good combo that could potentially win games, but never in the history of CFB has a HC willingly stepped down and allowed a local HC from another school take the top spot, while he returns to the DC position.

But, there are other choices for DC that could work. Just have to spend a little money.
