I've been watching this kid since his sophomore year. I'm very high on this kid as a college QB. He competed and did very well at the Elite 11 tryouts prior to his junior year and Im expecting him to blow up with offers by the end of summer when he competes at the Elite 11 again. I'd really like to see the staff get on this kid.

As I type, he has only one offer to SMU. Again, I expect that to change but it sure would be nice to see our staff make a play for this kid.

Here are the JR highlights of the 4* QB from Cali, who for some reason he only has one offer which is weird because he is ranked as the 9th best Pro-Style QB in the country for 2015.

Its interesting that GEORGIA was recruiting him two years ago.

Kyle from Cali, been there done that.

Kenny D from Cali? Gino T from Cali? Yeah, been there done that. Been burned multiple times. No more national championship QBs from Cali, no more Heisman Winners.

Stick with Stephen Morris, Kenny Kelly, Florida plays the best football. Scratch the out-of-state bums no more, Bernie or Jim K.

Reference was made only to Kyle from Cali, not others nor was it about quarterbacks from Cali. Think Kaaya, from Cali. Out of state qb's are wanted with talent and ability to deliver in games. The post was about an individual not the entire United States with the exception of SOFL.

IMO affluence matters when grooming a youth QB. The kids from Texas and Cali who have parents that spend the extra cheddar on private coaching, the summer camp circuit, premier 7 on 7 leagues, etc. have an advantage over the typical kid from the less affluent "deep south" who come from programs where the best athlete on the team plays QB in more simplistic HS offenses.

In this application, Kyle Kearns plays for a high school in Pleasanton, which is one of the most affluent communities in the US.

Again, I saw this kid as a sophomore when he transferred to Foothill high because Foothill was stacked with talent but didn't have a single QB on campus. Kearns was a bit of nomad football kid, but that's part of the youth landscape these days. Personally, I think he's good enough and still under the radar enough for our staff to make a play for him. THAT"S why I posted about him here.

Back from Hiatus I see. Kid looks good going through the passing drills. How is with the lights on?

Yeah Bennu,
I hate when life gets in the way of posting but it does happen sometimes. :)

I saw him play twice as a sophomore. He had amazing pocket presence for a 15 year old kid playing high level HS varsity ball. He threw some great balls but also threw a bunch of INTs. I did not see him live last season but I will definitely catch at least one of his games this fall. I live in Pleasanton so I get the updates from my son on the P-town talent. Isaiah Langley is the top dog in town this year with offers from every program under the sun

But Kyle Kearns is still a legit top shelf HS QB. Kearns dad played linebacker at Oregon back in our day but I don't believe he was ever a starter.
