Keep talking shx like Alonzo just some regular *** NFL scout are y’all mfkers high to disrespect the legend?? What about his front office career look like he was just some entry level Cub Scout for the NFL??

This man has more than enough experience mixing it up with high level executives that trusted him with building up their entire NFL team and has been praised as one of the best in the NFL doing it!!!

That experience coupled with his close relationships with the BOT and Miami donors and the university of Miami it’s a home run hire. This wouldn’t be the typical lazy hiring someone that has to learn on the job type of pick.

Fck Jurich he is washed up… Alonzo’s presence alone means football is most important. This is the perfect man for the job staring us right in the **** face and y’all acting like we can do better NO WE CANT, Tell Frenk to hire Zo ASAP!!

The 2 posts above me as I start to type this opine about an AD candidate and may or may not align what you CIS member prefer.

...which brings up a very fundamental interesting question: what is the proper role for a BOT member (that has some interest and suitable knowledge of football) in these staffing and hiring matters?

We see (perhaps directed by Frenk as a propaganda tool) David Lake espousing that Dr. Frenk and staff and search firm have things "well in hand"... and implying that no one on the BOT is gonna propel a choice that isn't "what's clearly best for the U" in the opinion of these powerful few...

...but I find that fairly disingenuous (word of the week) - since as a donating resource that might fund a buyout or stadium or whatever, shouldn't a BOT member have some (appropriate) sway?

But what is appropriate? You don't want someone pushing a "plan" that benefits someone's son, or political agenda, or their paid/preferred candidate having to "keep them personally pleased" in their job execution. But other than transparency (and even that is getting social media callouts, name-calling here, and more) what can govern this challenging situation?

It's all well and good when a BOT or other "influence" is pushing (for) a choice we personally agree with. But as in this thread, it's far from unanimous or crystal clear (what personnel to select.)

I guess I'm saying I don't envy Dr. Frenk, and wish there were a good solution to this mess.

Fck Jurich he is washed up…

Bro, It's an AD position, not starting at PG for the Lakers. I think Highsmith has really great long term value for the football program and should probably have some input on things in an official capacity. But I'm not willing to chance this golden egg (no pun intended) on someone who has never had to deal with the women's dive team getting the wrong swim suit sizes on gameday. AD is much more than football. Groom him, sure. But Jurich would be a slam dunk if not for his baggage...in which we're Miami, we're kind of used to it.
I'm a really bad porster to reply in the quote box. :snoopfacepalm:

No the fck he isn’t.. but I would welcome Dan Morgan in some role alongside Zo no question. Those mean are the perfect image and experience to show Miami isn’t some country club lacrosse school anymore.
Well when you’re a AGM then you’re higher than all the positions Zo had. Dan is a AGM…and has a super bowl ring…and held all the same positions ZO held. Hence making him more qualified.

Procuring a 16-year, $160 million apparel contract extension with Adidas (we were suppose to be the Adidas flagship. Jurich made Louisville the flagship.)

Moving the men’s and women’s basketball programs to the KFC Yum Center. (city did not want The Yum built downtown. Jurich not only got it built downtown, he built it downtown waterfront.)

Beginning a $55 million construction project on Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. (Jurich completed two expansions totaling over 100Ms in under a decade.)

(for second expansion see first pic)

Constructing the $18.5 million soccer stadium.

Hiring Pitino, current football coach Bobby Petrino and current baseball coach Dan McDonnell. (Pitino won a Natty, Petrino recruited Lamar who brought Louisville their only Heisman)

Winning the Sports Business Journal/Sports Business Daily Athletic Director of the Year award in 2007 and placing as a finalist in 2013.

Being inducted into the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
enough said.

They can all get together and vote to remove the prez. But also, there are people on the board who are involved.

I still find it absolutly astounding that Zo could have been here with Lambert underwriting his salary. A guy with decades of experience evaluating nfl talent. Smdh. The depths of that depravity, turning that down, knows no bounds. We got some fragile egos over here, whoosh, whoosh……

Some of y'all live in la la land.

You want change. You want to turn this program around. You want wins. You want a staff and admin that is respected and feared by every other program.

You recognize one of the main issues has been a lack of experience and qualified individuals running the show. We FINALLY look like we're going in the direction of gutting the entire fking thing and starting fresh.

And now you want to go out and hire someone that has NEVER run an entire organization top to bottom? Let alone worked in college athletics. Just because the guy worked in the NFL? We've had enough of the experiments. Just hire an experienced AD and stop playing games.

There is no doubt in my mind that if Miami hires Zo or Gino in some sort of leadership role every other program is going to breath a sigh of relief and think to themselves "thank fking god Miami is still run by a bunch of inept idiots."
