Please keep in mind, Indiana has prison shower loved 2 squads now without having a single 5* on their starting lineup vs their opponents having all 5*/4* players top to bottom. Bama + Oregon 2 deep has more stars than Indiana's entire first 22.

Cignetti puts on the field (2) 0* starters.

And the hoo..hoo...hoo..Hoosiers just outscored Bama + Oregon by 94-25.

Question is, what was the experience level of Oregon and Alabama? I haven’t checked that.

A thing that gave me confidence against Ohio State was that they had the least collective experience of any of our FBS opponents.

Louisville and SMU’s rosters were much weaker than ours, but they had the most collective experience.

Indiana has the second most overall experience of our opponents, and the most offensive experience.

Cignetti also drills them to militaristic precision of tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Rewatch the Oregon beating...Hoosier squad doesn't miss many assignments, their "lesser" athletes are seemingly always in tbe right place at the right time with the perfectly applied leverage against their larger, stronger, faster man across from them.

Credit to what he has built there. Now, Mario has built his roster and runs his practices very similar to Cignetti.

Who makes less mistakes (drive killing penalties and missed assignments) under the bright Monday night lights?

I believe that will be the critical factor.

The issue with analyses like these is that it compares players at the same positions, which is essentially irrelevant. You want to see how Miami's WR's compare to Indiana's defensive backs, not against their wide receivers. And of course this applies to other positions as well.

True… but stars don’t matter when you got grown *** men on the field. A lot of 4 and 5 star kids don’t make it in the NFL.The ones that do make it, are usually in the league by 21 or 22. Indiana’s starters are older than that! You mix grown men with skill, passion, and discipline with good coaching, it negates “talent disparities”. That’s why it don’t matter how many stars they had on their names at 18 years old. These men are 22-25 years old. In years past, more than 80% of their starters (age wise) would be in the NFL or in the work force. Maturity on the field means less mistakes.

True, but the average rating for each position group is provided.

Miami’s offensive line has a higher rating than Indiana’s defensive line. Miami’s wide receivers have a higher composite rating than Indiana’s cornerbacks.

On paper - while this may be the best coached of our opponents - aside from their quarterback Indiana is the second weakest team that we have faced all season. Their only advantage aside from coaching is team experience, and when you filter down to starters that dwindles.

One other thing on the star rankings - the transfer players are re-rated when they enter the portal. So for 33 of Indiana’s roster, we have a more recent picture.

Lace ya boots up

It's gonna be a looooong night
Then win on defense with technique and scheme. I saw a lot of stunts and slanting of the Dline. They try to knife between OL to create penetration that throws play timing off or to straight up cause TFL's. I would imagine the focus for the OL all week is dealing with how Indiana moves their DL around post snap. If we are able to handle that, it could be a long night for their defense because they are a fairly small DL.

Excellent point. One of the reasons we use tight splits on the OL. When we run DUO we have another OL able to take out the DL stunting and slants. Go watch the video Langdon just posted under X and O's. He showed this exact thing happening. Ole Miss was doing this all night.

not only small, but serious lack of depth.
