Some quick observations:
  • Temple has a an unusually large (13) wide receiver room, but at the same time have a relatively small offensive line group
  • Temple has an experience edge - they have 11 players on the roster entering their sixth season. Nine position groups have a player with five years into college football. Miami has five.
  • Overall average experience for Temple's roster is 2.0 years. Miami's is 1.8.

They struggle running the ball and stopping the run.

Their offensive line is bottom of the barrel bad but they don't give up a ton of sacks because Kurt Warner's kid gets the ball out super fast. They have very little running game so their entire offense is based on dinking and dunking up and down the field. This might be the type of game where Guidry uses more guys in coverage and just brings 4 guys most of the game. They can't protect more than a second or two but if you get too blitz happy, Warner can identify and attack pretty well. Make them have to throw the ball downfield with longer developing routes.

On offense it's probably going to look similar to the Ohio Miami game except Temple has a worse defense. They're going to play off and not let us beat them for the quick strike pass play. I expect another big day on the ground with just enough TVD to keep things exciting. Especially if it's going to be raining. Hopefully we'll see Mark Fletcher back this week. I like him in these types of games.

Game should be an absolute blow out. Temple is 9-25 since Geoff Collins left for GT. Temple is an absolute chit show of a program. Yes Temple had a nice lil stretch between Rhule + Collins for like 4 yrs, but they’re a pretty bad G5 program overall.

We’re bigger, faster, & stronger than this team. Need to put them out their misery ASAP.

with the weather, I think it’s potentially sloppy. We win, but don’t cover and it might even be by one score.

Hope I am wrong. That’s why I don’t bet. 😀

Go Canes!
