No... How about add more importance to the position.

Instead of games ending in "ties", how about you play one OT qtr, if it's still tied then have a ******* fg competition. Each attempt gets further and further. First kicker to miss an attempt (after a successful kick by the opponent) loses.

This would be an intriguing experiment.

You could pull in a hockey scoring system for losing in extra time.... Wins -Losses -OTLosses since there wouldn't be ties.
