The Canes have landed their first defensive lineman commit in nearly two months, securing key target Ezekiel Ayangbile.

A 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle, the four-star product has played across the line for his high school, Langham Creek, but projects as a tackle at the next level with his strength and frame.

The Houston native powers through opposing offensive lineman with impressive punch power, using his length to generate separation at the line.

Ayangbile also moves well for his frame as he uses his impressive football IQ to adjust to leverage and get in the backfield.

Ayangbile’s the son of former five-time Pro Bowler and 16-season veteran Duane Brown, and track athlete Ciera Ayangbile. Both parents are Virginia Tech alumni, making it even more impressive that the Canes were able to pull off this recruitment over the Hokies and LSU Tigers.

One key factor in this recruitment was the effort of defensive tackle coach Damione Lewis, who made multiple visits to Houston to get this recruitment over the line — and notably played with Brown on the Texans.

“The coaches down here really know what they're doing,” said Ayangbile following his spring visit. “They have great ideas and great teaching that they do on these kids, and I feel like they're really developing to be NFL talents.”

“Everybody that I met down here in terms of coaching has a great soul and a great spirit, and I think it's really just awesome because you don't have to connect with one specific person — you can be cool with the entire staff if you wanted to.”

Ayangbile pushes Miami to double digits in its 2027 class, becoming the tenth commitment this cycle.

He joins a defensive line room with Key West product Josh Johnson, as the room will continue to develop across the next few months.

We need to get him mom on payroll as our hype man! She’s fuggin great!

I know @Paranos dont want to hear this but these are the body types to expect at dt as long as Heatherman is here.

These kids have to be able to move but he is the fit for this defense.

the Future of DT is here, that old way is long gone. They need to be big athletic and in shape, pause.

hes definitely not 265 what hes listed at on 247.

whats cool is i think his comp could be like a ........Damione Lewis while here. Nice run stuffer..strong hands at that 6'2=6'3 300 pd range.

Tell Ziggy to bring Jhadyn Nelson w him

This kid is gonna be a throw back Miami DT. He won’t be 315 but he will play at 285-290 and be a nightmare with his quickness and ability to penetrate. ( yeah penetrate for all you perverts on the board ) he will fit perfectly next to Jenkins in the future.

He's gonna look like these guys after a year in the s&c...i think he is gonna get to 300..cause he appears close to that 280 now.

Yea it’s clear
We have the best dline
Because we have the most at minimum top 5 amount of 5 stars along the dline
After this year we have 0 and only 1 counting Bryant it’s concerning

You have no idea how many we’ll have next year.

True I’m projecting worse case scenario
But regardless the drop off in dt recruiting is concerning given the limited amount I understand you can’t get a 5 star yearly and that’s why u need high upside guys like zeke but still need more 5 stars been 3 cycles since we signed one that’s not acceptable if we want to stay at the level we’re currently at
