He should have taken a “better” job after last year when his name was hot. That was his chance. He topped out at UK last season.
How does this relate to Miami Hurricane football and why is this on a Miami Hurricane football message board? Because we were one of those teams that had a head coaching change. Honestly, I’m glad we didn’t try to get him. I’d rather test my chances with Diaz.

You are probably right, but they did lose their all time leading rusher (Snell), all time defensive player/sack leader (Josh Allen), and their starting qb before the season started. Big losses to absorb. He will get them back to being a perennial 8-9 win team.

He “might”. I’m just not sure he will have another group of kids like he had with them. Time will tell. UK is probably a good place for him if he is content with not being somewhere that you have a chance to win it all. It would take a whole lot for Miami to be in position to be in the mix, but I think it is more realistic that Miami could get into that position as compared to UK.

Just another one of the juggernaut coaches this board calls for to replace Manny. What do they have in common? Butch, Stoops, and Leach are all struggling with their programs in full swing. Manny is just starting. I’ll take a struggling rookie over a struggling veteran every time

I never thought we should hire Stoops, but any shot he had of having a decent season went up in flames when Wilson went down. I expected UK to win 7-8 games. Now, I'm thinking more like 4.

I feel like there are a lot more names you could have added to the list. Off the top of my head, Babers, Gundy, Locksley, Kiffen, etc
Drop in stock for all of those:
I do like Babers and think he will continue on a good pattern at Syracuse, but this year does not look good.
Gundy is beginning to look a lot like Kingsbury as a college HC, might be better in the NFL?
Locksley, stock dropping after the past couple weeks. But he is a good recruiter and at this point I would take DelMarva HS talent over South Florida's. Nick Saban agrees, look at Bama roster.
Kiffen's mediocrity at a second division school with far better recruiting area than his competitors makes me believe he is overated as an HC, UM occasionally beat Texas, Penn State, Auburn etc. back in the 70's when it was basically FAU. Went 50-50 with UF and FSU.

Stoops would coach circles around mark Diaz golden and you can take that to the bank! Stoops has forgotten more football then the espn production assistant knows. Smh stoops would have Ben a million times better hire and anyone who disagrees either
#1 never played the game just like Diaz didn’t or #2 hasn’t watched our last 4 games. Dudes a fraud any which way you cut it.

What’s a fraud is you pretending to be a Canes fan.

Whats a fraud is you supporting this abortion of a staff and head coach. You sir are the fake fan because you have emboldened/supported the admin to continue making cheap, short sighted and inexperienced hires.

I'm going to disagree. The guy is currently getting $4.75 Million a year. More money than Richt made last year (our highest paid coach) He's also going to keep getting an extra $500K each year from now for 5 years. He doesn't need to win his division, let alone his conference or a National Title. His fans won't want him gone unless he fails to make a bowl game 3 years in a row. Plus, he can recruit and develop.
