I dont like the idea because he has never called plays. Manny needs someone established already and maybe even with some HC experience to help him out.

If I read the boards correctly from a few weeks back people dug up on him and he gave the HC 3 options to choose from on each down? If the MF'r can come up with 3 options for each down he can call plays just fine.

interesting. I'm not saying I 100% disagree, but is underwhelming HC experience (Applewhite) better than no HC experience?
Yes. Its not about his success its about everyday things that Manny could get stuck with that he can at least have some input in. But anyways the main thing isnt Head Coaching experience the main thing is at least play calling experience which although he was an OC he never called plays.

that's a fair assessment. Gus Malzahn's offensive mind is better than mine. If he's comfortable with him as a play caller, I guess I am too.

What is the big deal? Mark had three options ready for every down for the last 30 years. Same three plays but still.
