Kendrick Norton Combine Status

the little things are now big when you take the risk he did, every opportunity is 10 X bigger and when missed 10 X more damaging, there was risk in every scenario, but I think he took the riskier one

God lord, what's the matter with you guys? He ran a respectable 40, a very good 10, and he had an excellent lift. He had a better 40 than Timmy Settles and Nnadi. And only 5 guys had a better lift for the day. He had a better lift than the two kids from Alabama. He only helped his status. The kid from Washington and the kid from Stanford put up ridiculous numbers.

For me not so much about Norton as it was about MMA Agent communications director Pete trying to spin it. Looks like nothing so far, Pete's been too busy re-tweeting Charles Robinson tweets...Yes, that Charles "Let me try to destroy Miami with a convicted Ponzi schemer who did a tenth what 'Bama boosters do" Robinson from Yahoo Sports.

Pete has as much loyalty to Miami as Hanoi Jane to the US in the 60s.

If he ran a 5.2 it’s idiotic to say that’s bad.

I’m not white knighting him or his decision, but some of you people get so wound up in your emotions you say really dumb shlt.

I mean 5.2 for a DT, if that’s what it was, are you kidding me, that’s actually killing it for one of those sides of beef. Get out of your feelings and use your brains.

I **** sure wouldn't want to be in his way when he's running 5.2!

I'm not seeing the issue here. Ran well, lifted well. He's a nose tackle, not a linebacker. 5.2 is fine. 10 yard split was fine. Lifts were solid.

The issue is that people's feelings are hurt because he left when he could have been helpful next season.

That's it exactly. People's feelings are hurt that he left when he could have helped us next season.

We all love to brag about nfl Canes, why trash the kids that are going. Is it somehow better for us if the DON’T become millionaires? Some of you guys are idiots. They went to the pros; they did not transfer to UF.

No, the point is that if draft grades, expert analysis, and scout opinion point to a player staying in school instead of entering the draft, and that player still enters the draft, then I don't see any reason to be all that supportive for him during this time period. I am not supportive of decisions like this. He could be helping us this fall, as well as himself in next year's draft.

Again, the system sucks and a player shouldn't have to choose one or the other. They should be draft eligible and also college eligible, and dependent on the draft, that player can then decide to go pro or come back. He will have full information to make an informed decision. The whole Joseph Yearby incident is a tragedy.

You have any older kids? Once they are teenagers forward, they regularly face you with this situation. They make decisions that you know are mistakes or are not the best. With the players, I always default to the memory of Melvin laying on the field his senior year. We are they Cane family and they kids deserve our best whishes even for stupid decisions.
