Two assistants I think would do a great job as the next head coach at IMG - EG Green or Ken Dorsey.

Would be epic for recruiting.

Dorsey was on the Joe Rose show a couple of weeks ago and it certainly seemed like he would want to come back into college.

Many college football pundits consider the early 2000 Miami Hurricanes as some of the most talented teams in college football history.
The quarterback of that Golden Era of Canes football, Ken Dorsey, joined the Joe Rose Show this morning on WQAM to chat about his current gig as quarterbacks coach for the Carolina Panthers, the state of Miami football, and how he nearly left the NFL for a college job this year.
“Something came up where I was close to going back to college this year,” Dorsey said. “There was some consideration there at an offensive coordinating position but obviously it’s got to be the right position.
“I think I would love to do college and everything like that. It’s great to be able to work with college players and be able to develop them.”
When Joe Rose predicted that someday we’re going to see Dorsey back in college football as a coordinator and then as a head coach, the former All-American didn’t deny it.
“That very well could happen,” Dorsey said. “You never know. I do love college football and it’s a fun atmosphere and you never know what will happen.”
Which program will be the one to give the two-time Heisman finalist a shot?

Why would Ken leave NFL to go to HS job? College OC, maybe but HS? It sounds like Weinke is getting promoted to same job Ken already has, why would Ken take a demotion.

This is what I was thinking.

The only reason I could see him doing it is if they match his current pay, and he sees it as an opportunity to build recruiting connections in order to be a successful College OC and then head coach. Other than that, I don't see why he would take it.

ehh it might sound crazy but id rather be the head coach of the best HS team in fla(probably the country too) where i have tons of top 100 players and the best college teams are stopping by daily then the QB coach of the carolina panthers

IMG is way more than a HS man, it's one of the most well known academies for training athletes and coaches alike and provides a vast network of connections from the HS to the olympic level in a bunch of sports. Not saying it's a destination job but it's not necessarily a big downgrade.

It all comes down to dollars. Doubtful that IMG, even with its deep pockets, would pay Dorsey what he earns as an NFL assistant.

Wienke seemed to disagree.

Lulz at a guy leaving the NFL voluntarily to accept a HS coaching gig. Are you guys serious? Just because you're obsessed with recruiting as fans doesn't mean that this idea makes even a scintilla of sense for Dorsey.

Source tells me IMG has named EG Green as interim head coach as they conduct a "National" search for a new director of football.
