With UM still looking for a Big Running Back to complement J. Yearby in the 2014 and having just landed a west coast QB in Brad Kaaya UM should venture west once again an revisit the state of Colorado for a gem of a RB in Kalen Ballage. Ballage was a nationally under the radar type Back until he showed up at the RCS in Phoenix, AZ an simply annihilated everyone else a from a Running Back perspective which catapulted him onto many FBS recruiting board. He entered the camp with just 6 offers and is currently up to 16 offer which many analyst predict will balloon to over 30 offers by summer.

Currently Michigan has made the biggest impact on the young man, but their back field is getting crowded with young talent an they took another commitment recently but Ballage still remains U of M's top target on their Board (which is why Brady hoke is recruiting the young)

Lets face it how often do 6'2" 216lbs running backs with 4.37 sec 40yd speed show up that can bench 370lbs and sqat 485lbs. He claims a personal best 10.71 sec 100m time as a soph and a 10.93 electronic official time which for a 220lb kid is really moving.

Ballage also possesses the vision good RB's need to make cut backs at full speed or while accelerating. Now you ask how is it that he has gone unnoticed well playing in a small town in the middle of no where will do that and what you want to see out of an athlete in that situation playing against weaker competition is total dominance well Ballage delivers by the truck load in the form a 23 min highlight video from his 2012.

2012 Season Higlights Ballage is #7

Ballage is open to all offers and is interested in going through the recruiting process he is listed as an Athlete but leans strongly to playing running back, which is where UM could have an edge with the countries best OL Class for 2014 and the #19 PS-QB to go along with UM's lack of that RB position would make UM the ideal choice for young mr. Ballage who also values academics highly.

Kalen Ballage Interview (very articulate young man)

UM needs to jump in on this young mans radar before he shuts it down, considering he wants to play in a warm climate and study Sports Medicine or Communication sounds like a gift wrap for UM.

yes, UM interest. university of michigan.
a gift wrap for UM? where do you come up with this stuff?

Paranos I appreciate your contribution, truly, but this guy screams Michigan to me. We'll see.

That is what I am saying and Mich fans are feeling that with U of M taking Derrick Green & Deveon Smith both 220lbs backs in 2013 class plus sione Houma , Drake Johnson, and Dennis Norfleet all over 200lb backs in 2012 that is 5 backs taken in 2 years plus they had 3 already so that back field is very crowded. That is why he has said many times in articles and interviews he is keeping his options open, not to mention that comment during the radio interview that yeah wants to play in a warmer climate, well Colorado to Michigan is the exact opposite of that Michigan is wayyyyyy colder then colorado. Not to mention UM has a top notch Medical program which would be incredibly enticing along with playing time, immediately behind a crazy offensive line.

So lets see what happens.

To keep my head from exploding, no one should ever use UM to mean UMich, UMaryland, or U-any **** thing. I feel like I need to re-read threads to make sure the monster offensive line I was so excited about actually committed to us and not Miami of Ohio.

Would expect more "ballage" from a 220lb, 4.3 RB playing against all those little white kids.

Miami should never have to venture that far for a RB.

Well then what going that far for DE Calais campbell and his brother was to far for UM to venture. Come on UM goes all.over the country to find special players. Especially when the s.fla kids won't act right and want to clown UM with committing elsewhere.

Don't forget he also out performed all other skill players at the rivals camp in phoenix, az which had quite a few speedy athletes. So the kid is the real deal hence why U OF m, ASU, neb, GT, boise state, KSU, and oklahoma have offered him. All teams that load up and tell you where they are fixing to run the dang ball an dare you to stop them, so I think they know how to evaluate RB talent.

Weighs 220 and runs a 4.3 lmao yeah okay.

Lamar Miller says hello as does Willis Mcahee (pre injury), as does adrian peterson (pre injury). Oh and if you really want to talk absurd Bo Jackson and 260lb christian ocoyee (nfl kansa city) say hello on their way to the 4.39 or less 40yd dash.

An as for current 220lb+ players that run sub 4.4 in college you have 2013 rb Derrick green at U of M and davon robinson formally of Auburn to name few. Yes theses types of players are rare but they are out there.

As for Ballage I think he is more in the low 4.4-4.45 range based on his consistant track time of electronic timed 11sec 100m times with is roughly 10m per 1.1 seconds; which roughly translates to 4.41 seconds to cover 40 yds. So his numbers are very close to the reported times, and for a 220lb back that is moving pretty **** fast.

I'm from Colorado, this kid isn't very good. Plays some scrubby *** teams. Scrubby *** COLORADO teams, that would get absolutely **** on by any team in Florida. Don't want.

edit: and he doesn't run no god**** 4.3

So then how do you explain him dominating kids from all over the southwest at the rivals camp in pheonix,,az. Rivals flat out said the kid owned everyone he went against. Remember everynow and then you find a golden nugget among the rocks.

Paranos i think you put way too much value on camp performances. All that matters if how a player plays with pads

Okay so OU who also offered him recently can't judge talent. Lets look some programs that take no name kids and turn them into world beaters KSU :are you telling me bill snyder can't judge talent. Michigan are you telling me Brady hook and Al Borges don't know talent. The fact Al Borges wants him as a running back should be enough for you the guy has produced some if the mist prolific offenses in ncaa history at UCLA, AUBURN, SDSU, and watchout for Michigan year 1 without Denard.

Oh bo pelini at Neb doesn't know how to judge talent also.

Come on now, this kid has the goods.
