I like what I'm seeing from this kid. He's been physical with taking on and shedding blockers, in the tackle box to find the ball, and is tackling aggressively when he gets there. He's had decent coverage on a few passes thrown his way!

What I find interesting, is there was very little talk of him in camp, which made you assume, it was because Kirby was leap years ahead of Young as a player.

Starting Kirby is another example of Golden's football code of ethics, simply because he's a Sr (codeword for Golden's: "bright young man").

Other "bright young men" mistakes - starting over more talented players:

Dallas Crawford & Jamal Carter < Rayshawn Jenkins
Trent Harris < Al-Quadin Muhammad
Kumalu < Kendrick Norton
Calvin Heurtelou < Courtel Jenkins
Alex Gall, Danny Isidora, Tyler Grimsley < some freshman on the Roster we're red-shirting.

The list goes on and on....

Raphael Kirby fvggin blows. Kid sucks. His play recognition is awful, he is slow, and he is soft as evidenced by his weak *** tackling.

You do dealize he was hurt essentially all of camp right?

I agree.

This isn't pop warner. Play the best player. I don't care how many stickers a guy has next to his name because of his workouts. There is special teams for the we-fense players.
