Would have been tough.

However, If we would have lost just one game and played in the ACC CCG they probably put us in the Orange Bowl bracket with a bye though so it could have been easier.
We will never know.

What happened was meant to be.

First round bye was a guaranteed kiss of death. Worked out like it was supposed to.

It worked out. That game was irrelevant in hindsight and I am not sure our seeding would have been different either so the same path with more wear and tear.

Just cause you got the bye, doesn't mean you were the favorite.

ASU, Boise, and Oregon, all got byes last year and none of them were the favorites in their game. All three lost.
UGA got the bye last year, was the favorite, and lost.

This year, UGA & Ohio got the byes and were the favorites, and loss.

Texas Tech got the bye but wasn't the favorite and lost.

Indiana, got the bye, was the favorite, and beat the **** out of Bama lol

If Miami wins the ACC i think we get a bye. Clear to me that taking a full month off between games is too much.
