How come Miami never tried to lure back Schnellenberger after we lost JJ or dennis erickson? If he left Louisville to Oklahoma we probably would've had a shot and the timing might've made sense... Just curious if this was ever considered/talked about at the time....

I suspect because he was at Louisville and, in a more basic sense, Schnelly realized that the Administration and the BOT never intended to build an On Campus Stadium.

Why would he work for such people?

Gotta realize the years were creeping up on him at that time, and the rest of college football was catching up to the "U"s system, plus the NCAA rulings on Pell Grants and a boatload of other items....
