Scott can stay as a te coach, he's not ready for the hc job here. Maybe UCF will give him a shot.

Scott's done a great job as an interim HC. That said, he's not yet ready to be a HC at a major school. He may get there someday.

As to Scott being a nice guy who would never fire anyone, all I can say is don't let the smooth taste fool you. I've seen managers who are some of the nicest guys you will ever meet that would fire a poor performing employee in the blink of an eye. At this point you just don't know.

That said, I also believe Scott would make a better HC than Mario, but neither one will get the job.

He will be a HC somewhere to start his own journey, just not at Miami... his style seems to fit south florida, ucf or usf, fau, fiu would be a good start for him.

The problem with Larry Scott being a head coach at another program is that he loses the most important characteristic that has enabled him to win games at Miami: he is not Al Golden. He won because he followed the worst possible head coach and it gave the kids a sense of freedom. He doesn't get that somewhere else.

Make no mistake about it, Scott did not revamp any X's and O's. We have never seen what he will do when he has to establish the on- and off-the-field cultures from day one.
