Do we have to give up 9 scholarships over a three year period?
How many did we take last year that would count towards the 25 last year?


This is my general thinking depending on the numbers if we take 4 less this year, would it count towards our penalty of 9 less scholarships?

1. Yes, we have to give up 9 schollys over the next 3 years.

2. The number of players we took last year is irrelevant to this point, as all reductions must take place with 2014-15-16 classes.

3. We took less than a full 25 class, even including August transfers.

4. The number of new incoming players isn't the number that matters for the reductions. It's the number of OVERALL SCHOLARSHIP PLAYERS on the roster. So, basically, the overall scholarship number is reduced from 85 to 82 per year, on average.

5. We can take the scholarship reduction in any combination we want. Golden has said he plans on taking a certain number per year, but has not disclosed that number. With less than 80 players on the roster currently, that makes sense to me.

6. I like lists.
