Not a bad sign if he is here for 3 days. He has to look at our depth chart and know that there is a chance to play here. And early.

Wonder how he'll get into Miami academically if he didnt get cleared at Wisconsin.

So what's the word on his skills? Is he eligible to play this year?

He is thunder and lighting all in one packge. He is eligible to play immediately since he did not enroll at Wisconsin.

High School: Four-star recruit by 247 Sports, ESPN, Rivals and Scout … second-team all-state selection by Associated Press as a senior … District 135A MVP as a senior … behind 12 100-yard games, averaged 180.7 rushing yards per game and 9.8 yards per carry as a senior, logging 12 100-yard games … finished season with 2,530 yards and 28 touchdowns … also rushed for 2,020 yards and 17 TDs as a junior in 2013, averaging 155.4 yards per game and 9.3 yards per carry … finished varsity career with 5,897 yards of total offense (5,403 rushing and 494 receiving) and 60 total touchdowns … his 5,403 career rushing yards set a Dallas Independent School District record … four-year team captain and two-time team MVP … also lettered in track and field … coach was Emmett Jones

Personal: Mother is Qy Ross … relative Casey Gerald played football at Yale from 2005-08 … relative Rodrick Gerald played football at Ohio State from 1975-78.

His mother owns a IT consulting company in Texas focusing on Healthcare Administration, she is a self made manager and entrepreneur that has a pretty good track record for delivering C-level results in the Healthcare Industry so I am sure Miami's academics and repetition in the Healthcare industry has also caught her attention in addition to Miami's track for producing NFL talent. I think she will hit off with Coach Harris and Golden could sell Ice to an Eskimo.

An Miami's depth chart is hands down the most appealing especially when paired with Brad Kaaya for the next 2 -3 years.

I've mentioned several times here the pull that Miami has in South Dallas. This kid goes to a school that gets lots of the athletes that Dallas Carter used to get (Armstead, Daryl Jones, etc). If we lose this kid to Nebraska, I'll be very very disappointed in our coaching staff - assuming they really want him.

Recruiting: RB Jordan Stevenson reportedly visiting Miami; Alabama next?
By Jon Nyatawa July 28,2015

Nebraska spent the weekend making its pitch to former Wisconsin signee Jordan Stevenson. Now the four-star running back will see what (at least) one more program has to offer.

Stevenson is set to begin a two-day visit at Miami, starting Tuesday and extending into Thursday, according to 247 Sports national analyst Ryan Bartow. He'll be on campus with his mom, Qy Ross.

Bartow reported that it's also possible Stevenson will visit Alabama before making his decision — though the coveted prospect previously told 247 Sports and Husker Online that he'd like to choose a new school by the end of the week.

Stevenson, a 5-foot-9, 185-pounder out of Dallas South Oak Cliff High School, is hastily navigating through another recruitment process because he was denied admission at Wisconsin. He'd be eligible to play this fall.

Nebraska has certainly made Stevenson a high priority. Here's what Stevenson told Husker Online: "Really I got interest after the program reached out to me. I saw how important I was to them. I fell for Nebraska and I just really took the opportunity to go up there and visit."

Defensive backs coach Brian Stewart and linebackers coach Trent Bray helped persuade Stevenson to visit NU. Freshman linebacker Tyrin Ferguson was his player host.

The Huskers have some talent returning at running back, but it's all unproven since Ameer Abdullah handled much of the workload the past two years. Senior Imani Cross, junior Terrell Newby, sophomore Adam Taylor and redshirt freshman Mikale Wilbon will each be competing for the top job during preseason camp, in what arguably may be the most wide-open position battle on the team.

So Stevenson would get a chance to play at NU. But a similar opportunity exists at Miami, which is seeking to replace star Duke Johnson (junior bruiser Gus Edwards is competing with the agile sophomore Joe Yearby). Alabama appears to have a clear-cut No. 1 in Derrick Henry, although he's a possible candidate to turn pro after the season ends.

He reportedly played his senior in these videos at 5'8" and 205lbs but maintained his 4.44 sec speed.

Stevenson talks Nebraska visit

The clock is ticking for 2015 four-star Dallas South Oak Cliff running back Jordan Stevenson.

After not being admitted into Wisconsin this past week, Stevenson has about a week to figure out his future plans. The new Nebraska staff led by secondary coach Brian Stewart and linebackers coach Trent Bray wasted no time making sure Stevenson knew there was a place for him in Lincoln.

Stevenson has already been academically cleared to NU, and he hopped on a plane Saturday night for a two-day official visit that ended Monday afternoon.

"It was good man, it was a good experience," Stevenson said of his trip to Lincoln. "I got to see the different things about the University first off academic wise and just how everything went. Also the athletic department is really good. It's a family unit. Everybody does get along. It was great.

"Really I got interest after the program reached out to me. I saw how important I was to them. I fell for Nebraska and I just really took the opportunity to go up there and visit."

Stevenson was hosted by New Orleans Edna Carr true freshman linebacker Tyrin Ferguson, who he referred to as his "brother." The two have a relationship that dates back earlier this year from playing in a high school all-star game together.

Head coach Mike Riley spent quite a bit of time with Stevenson this week in Lincoln as well. Riley was on his vacation down in Texas and came back early to be with Stevenson.

"He's a very good coach and he has a lot to offer," Stevenson said of Riley. "He's reaching out to help me and I really appreciate that from coach. He's a very good guy, very down to earth and he just wants to see his guys succeed."

Riley also had strong words of praise about how bad he would like to have Stevenson at Nebraska.

"When I talked to (Riley) he just said 'look man, we need you, you are a good kid and we have your best interest at heart,'" Stevenson said. "He said you can come in here as a true freshman and be a big impact to this team."

The timeline going forward is still up in the air for Stevenson. As of late Monday afternoon he does not have any other official visits scheduled, but there's always the chance that could change.

One thing though is certain - time is of the essence. A decision will be made by Stevenson in the coming days and no later than this week.

"I'm not for sure at this point, but it's a possibility," Stevenson said when asked if he'll take more visits. "I'm not sure what other schools I'd visit at this point. I have to go home and negotiate with my parents what my next move will be.

"I'll make my decision here in the next couple of days and everything should work out."

Stevenson compares his game and style to former Husker great Ameer Abdullah, who finished his career as NU's No. 2 all-time leading rusher.

"Ameer (Abdullah) was a very elusive guy," Stevenson said. "We are about the same size, no bigger. I'm just a faster version of Ameer. I look up to that being able to be an Ameer Abudllah type of guy. I'm more explosive and I plan on taking my game to the next level. From here on out I plan on building my own legacy."

Stevenson traveled to Lincoln on his own for the visit, so there has been some questions posed if that will play an impact.

"My mom supports me in any decision I make, as long as it's the right decision," Stevenson said. "When I get back home we are going to go over everything and see where we go from there.

"This week my decision will be made. It will be in the next couple of days. I'm not for sure though."

"My mom supports me in any decision I make, as long as it's the right decision," Stevenson said. "When I get back home we are going to go over everything and see where we go from there.
That right there tells the tale. Momma Stevenson is gonna have a big say in this decision.

I think we've got a puncher's chance. Not much more than that. We need to blow him away from now thru Thursday, and show off the academics to mom, and I think the most important thing is ENSURING HER that he will be accepted into Miami and that he will be supported academically better at Miami than anywhere else.

IF I were the staff, I'd be making **** sure admissions had my back on this one, and really giving the hard sell to a kid who got turned down for admission somewhere else that the small class sizes and academic support at Miami was THE best in the nation.

i like his vision doesn't show his break away speed enough but can gain that with training is tough runner would be a nice get but honestly i don't know if his interest is very serious or not
