On the next interview, i hope the CiS journo asks him about his relationship with Vance Spafford.
Mission Viejo destroyed Eli Woodard’s HS who was without their Cal commit QB. Hicks returned an INT for a touchdown and pressured the punter, it looks like he almost or might’ve touched the ball but it appears his teammate would be credited with the blocked punt, then JH scooped and scored it.
I see him lined up covering Eli so our staff is definitely watching the game tape. On his INT, QB threw a terrible ball intended for another WR and Hicks was alert enough to make an adjustment to grab it.
On Eli’s TD, it was a trick WR pass and Hicks was not one of the primary DBs who were tricked. He makes a valiant, far hash mark to sideline, effort to prevent the TD to no avail, tackling Eli shortly after he crossed the plane. Hicks also has a good tackle on the RB that prevented a 4-5 yard rush from being a 15+ gain.
Hicks had a nice PBU in his second game of the season, defending a short curl route.
