If you're relating this year to Saban's 1st year then Richt Jr and Searles are Applewhite. Applewhite was the godawful corch Saban hired as his OC at Bama in 2007. In a large part because of Applewhite's corchiness Bama went 7-6. Saban dumped Applewhite after 1 year and went 12-2 and 14-0.
