Joel Klatt of Fox Sports ranks top10 college football teams of this century

If I was making this list I’m rearranging it like this
1. 2001 Miami
2. 2019 LSU
3. 2004 USC
4. 2005 Texas
5. 2013 Florida State
6. 2020 Alabama
7. 2018 Clemson
8. 2008 Florida (Most overrated team in CFB history…)
9. 2021 Georgia
10. 2000 Oklahoma

(2000 Miami would easily be on this list had we not got screwed we would’ve destroyed that Oklahoma team. 2002 Miami also would be in this Top5 had we not lost in the Fiasco bowl.) (2005 USC although lost to Texas also deserves a mention. Had they won that game like they should’ve they could make a case for that #2 spot with LSU…)

I’d probably put Georgia at 5 and slide the others down in the same order. Definitely agree on LSU at 2. They would’ve smoked the other teams on the list with that squad.

UGA as well, IMO.

Maybe flip UF and OU for last.

Claiming Miami didn’t beat Nebraska badly enough proves he’s an idiot and didn’t watch the game
Yeah 34-0 at halftime and we was laying some big time hits on them. Sheer domination at its best. We could’ve won that game 60-0 had we not went on cruise control…

That USC team was incredible don’t get me wrong and Bush was about as exciting a college football player I’ve seen. LenDale White was good too. But that front 7 we had would’ve shut the USC run game down and no body is throwing on 01 Miami secondary…

That LSU team would easily give us a run for our money. USC as well.

Talent wise, we got it for sure. Coaching could cost us and deliver the W against a few of these teams if everything didn't go perfect in this hypothetical scenario. I'm not taking another team, but every aspect matters.

That won't be popular, but whatever.

FSU’s 99 was better than 13

The 2019 LSu team was an All timer but I think recent bias is why people talk about them so much. Texas, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama all had them on the ropes and outside of Bama those teams were not that great.

I think Texas 05 because of Young and his running ability and one of the Bama teams because of Coaching would have been our toughest tests.

I agree I think they’re in the #2 spot for sure.
I’m going to disagree with you, slightly, on this one. That 04’ USC team was one of the greatest teams I’ve ever seen, and I think Klatt got the final two correct, but I just disagree with him on who the winner would be. Everyone always talks about how great USC’s offense was that year, but forget about how insanely good their D was as well. They finished that year #3 in Total Offense, but also #6 in Total Defense. And see, there’s the rub I have with that 19’ LSU team and why I can’t put them up there with 01’ Canes/04’ USC…I just don’t think their defense was good enough. They finished that year 9th in The SEC in defense, all while giving up over 5100 total yards. If we’re talking ā€œall-timeā€, I would actually have that 95’ Nebraska team ahead of the 19’ LSU team…that Nebraska squad was insane.
