We're NOT rich with financial resources, or facilities....but do have something very few other schools have , and that's an ungodly wealth of ALL-Star former players and coaches who've been there and won BIG Time.

A person has to know what he doesn't know....be it a player or a coach.

Luckily for us a player or a coach doesn't have to go far to gain the best possible knowledge of CFB success

If you're smart you'll seek out the best and listen. JJ is definitely one of the greatest coaches of all time.

I'm glad Manny reached out .......and I'm glad JJ came through.....its a Cane thing....That's what we do

One thing JJ did was his teams never released pressure during games always full throttle till whistle blows , you watch games and see players away from the play trotting there routes 1/2 speed because there not getting the ball.

JJ never excepted it he believed that even if the play is NOT designed to get you the ball you MUST SELL IT even if you are 20 yards away , same with the D always box/trail in your lanes.

This is were to WIN by being in shape make your opponent run for nothing , I loved watching Don Bailey play ( Canes WIOD) he would hit people till whistle blew and ****ed of people to frustration and mistakes the second he heard whistle he'd turn and run back to O huddle.

TNM

GOCANES

If he adopts JJ's pedal to the metal mentality and changes the team's mentality back the old NEVER QUIT one, we'll be really back quickly.

He has the defensive chops and I love his open attitude of being willing to learn.

Now he has to deliver over the entire season

The time for the talk about potential is over

Diaz didn't need Johnson to "school" him. Manny isn't some outsider; he's a 45-year old "kid"who grew up going to games at the Orange Bowl, with a love and passion for this program. He cold called JJ and solicited the advice because he knows Johnson is the godfather of UM football.

"We were not a blueblood of college football. We kind of crashed the party defeating teams that had greater resources and stadiums and facilities. That chip on the shoulder made Miami, Miami."

That's a guy who understands the program's DNA and knows what's up. He went seeking wisdom and got it. Manny is the first on-brand coach UM has had since Butch Davis left down.

Fact: Diaz went to JJ for advice. JJ gave it to him.... that's considered being schooled

"school (one) (in something)"
1. To tutor, train, or mentor one (in some skill, discipline, field, etc.).I've begun schooling my brother in how to dress and behave for business."

2. To educate in or as if in a school; teach; train.

I'm also aware that the term can also has negative connotations and be used in other different ways.

That is NOT the way I meant OR used it....ask anyone whose breath doesn't smell like Similac( someone over 35) They'll explain that its a old term with several meanings

That's only the way YOU chose to interpret it.

You want to assume the worse fine...that's on you.

Have a good one
