JIMMY JOHNSON

I was about to post this. JJ in tears and the Rock showing him a lot of respect. JJ even threw up the U
Sure wish we had a few new glory days. Long time ago. I’m 64 now and it has been decades since sitting in the Orange Bowl being amazed at the vibrations and the place not collapsing. Drinking beer and wondering is it me or the urinal is swaying!!

Jerry is all about Jerry. He was irked Jimmy got the credit for taking over a 3-13 team and winning back-to-back Super Bowls four seasons later.

Worst professional team ownership decision of all-time was Jones firing Johnson after back-to-back titles. Only to hire Barry Switzer. Despite Switizer’s SB win (with mostly JJ‘s team) Cowboys have been in purgatory since. Jones got what he deserved. He should just signed the checks, let Jimmy cook, and another 2-3 championships.

And imagine what Jimmy could have accomplished had he stayed at Miami for another five-six-or more seasons.
Yea, everyone knows how Jerry is. He’s one of the most intrusive and meddling owners in any sport. Now, counter that with Jimmy, who’s a very hands on(you’re going to do it HIS way, or it’s the Highway) type of coach, and you could see that relationship not lasting very long. Still, you have to imagine, when Jerry’s swimming in his bed filled with money late at night, he thinks about how many titles they could have won had he not been so stubborn. Regarding Jimmy, deep down I think he knows he absolutely could have won more rings at Miami and Dallas, but he’s always seemed extremely content/happy with how his career played out and doesn’t seem to have any regrets.

Every decision Al Davis made after Madden left would give that statement a challenge. What he did to Marcus Allen was criminal.

Leaving that stadium is one of the many reasons of our fall. The seats were right up close to the field. I miss the Orange Bowl, it should be our Yankee stadium/wrigley field but they tore it down :(
