Jerry Palm predicts Miami 11 in CFP rankings

I use to get bothered by these rankings ... Until I figured out that is the exact intent of having them ... To get a response from fans.

They don't release these rankings for logic, they release them to tell the media where to focus their energies.

And while it would be great for us to be winning the way UGA and Bama are, the committee doesn't really care. If they did, UCF would be ranked higher than Wisconsin ... Considering they have a common opponent, and UCF beat Maryland by more.

So ... I'll just worry about about beating VT this week.

Well, yes, but these rankings are kind of important
 
I'm not concerned with the rankings today. If we win on Saturday, we are going to work our way up. We have back to back weeks to prove to the committee that we belong in the playoff discussion.
 
I don’t worry about this anymore. If anything, it’s a disrespect and motivation for our players. There isn’t a program that responds better to disrespect than UM.
 
If we end up undefeated having beat VT, ND and Clem/NC St we'll be in the playoff easily
 
I hope the committee puts us at 11. Would be a gift.

Anger is an amazing fuel, and we gonna eat all night on Sat....

Obviously. But the loser of UGA/Bama will be in too. There's currently 2 one loss teams in. That's my only point. I understand if we win out, we're in.

Totally agree, these rankings don't mean a hill of beans to Miami currently. Win the next two then we can start *****ing. The team needs to focus on VT. The "one game at a time" mentality.

The one part that sucks is why do some 1 loss teams get n if they win out when’s 1 loss UM will plummet?
 
Like Blake James basically said yesterday, if we win out, these polls are worthless. The time to ***** is IF we do just that and we're not in the Top 4. Until then, Virginia is all that matters.

Perceived schedule strength and our 1-loss will likely be to another playoff contender.

Lose to VT and we're out of ACC Championship game.

Lose to ND and one less conference champ gets a berth.
