Jeff James Jr. (Nephew of Edgerrin)

Kid looks legit at safety and has a nose for the ball. Looks like he could be a uncovered gem, and with proper coaching could develop into a phenomenal player a la Ed Reed type of player.

+1 his tape looks great. A little Malcolm Butler also.

On the downside the track and field numbers don't show great athleticism. Pretty mediocre performances in the jumps and the 400m time is awful.

I raise your Ed reed and counter with a Kenny Phillips/slim Sean Taylor type of game

Yep, TnF performances are pedestrian. I mean it's great and all that he does these kinds of events and multiple sports (shows what kind of kid he is) but just because he doesn't all these things doesn't make him an elite athlete. I'm not convinced based on his film especially with the quality of the other safeties we're recruiting but I suppose he's a nice plan B/C kid?

doesn't look like an explosive athlete.

However, he clearly has excellent ball skills and hand/eye coordination.

These kind of kids are always interesting to me.

Will be interesting to see how he turns out.

No bat-signal.

No commit.

Yea probably so. Seems just about every coach tweets out something for a commitment and there is not a single tweet on this one. Maybe he's coming as a preferred walk-on with Edge footing the bill. Would not be a bad way of donating to the program.
