If not now then at some point in the future he needs to be considered. Highly respected as a player and executive. Miami native. Canes alum.

Definitely outside the box, but is he interested in that kind of executive position where it isn’t just basketball he has to worry about? Not ruling it out by any means

Ole Miss hired a former basketball player as their AD. He played for Ole Miss. Made a nice hire in Kiffin.

Not downplaying Jones at all but being a GM of a 15 man roster and the AD of multiple sports with a few hundred college athletes is barely in the same realm.

I doubt it. I was just throwing it out there. He'll most likely be in the NBA his entire career. If he ever comes home, I'm guessing it will be in some capacity with the Heat.

The only job James Jones would take in hometown Miami is the GM job with the HEAT. Stop.

This fan base never ceases to amaze. GM of a franchise that just made the NBA Finals and we’re talking about him replacing Blake James, simply because he’s an alum.

****, why not aim higher and just go for The Rock, or Sylvester Stallone—or a music- driven AD trio of Bruce Hornsby, Jon Secada and Gloria Estefan.
