I don't want to hear anyone say Coley for HC ever again. I counted 6 plays... 6 plays where Miami ran the ball out of the shotgun in a short yardage situation, not one was converted for a first down or touchdown. You would think after the 2nd or 3rd time he'd change it up, but it all falls back to who hired him...

Running the ball out of the shotgun should be played once or twice in a game. I never liked the play, in the NFL or in college. The RB has no momentum as he hits the line.

He called a pretty good game.....short yardage is on the o-line....the one problem I have with him is he goes away from what's working and gets too conservative

What difference does it make?

If you line-up in the shotgun with 4 wide then you get less defenders in the box to stop the run.
If you line-up under center with "heavy" personnel then you get a stacked box.

Ultimately it comes do to winning at the point of attack.

I thought he called a great game today, at least in the first half.

Yea, when we had 3rd and 1 to clinch the game, all of our linemen got knocked back. That's not on Coley. Based off the entire game it should've worked, but the line let Yearby down there.

well he sure called a better game then the previous two so there is hope. I did not like inserting Rosier on 1st down on the 10 yard line. Why take it out of your No 1 QB in that position. Wasted play as it turned out and NU started their comeback from that point on.

I think we are really missing the big back Edwards on these 3rd and short.

This is another game where he ran out of bullets, but I really liked some of the in running patterns underneath vertical routes. F'in finally!

Do you think Coley gets conservative by himself or is it something that comes from Al? I'm not a fan of Coley, but the first 2-3 drives of each half seem to be near flawless and almost always end with scores. I feel like he would love to keep momentum going and put teams away, but Al tells him to slow it down and that's where it gets stagnant.

It's also possible that I just hate Golden so much and want him to be at fault for everything no matter what, but would still love to hear your personal opinion on the situation.

Coley didn't get conservative , golden does this im telling you man. He is worried about keeping the D off the field...

The problem isn't the play call, it's the out of shape, overwheight OL that we have! They can't fire off the ball...

Maybe I missed it but how did we go conservative. They were snapping the ball with 25 seconds on the play clock. What was conservative on the Walton td run? The walton swing pass for td? The long ball to Scott late in the game ? If you want to criticize throwing a fade to an overweight non athletic Te I get it. By the way I'm guessing that's on waters. I doubt the play design was to have waters man stand right there

Am I the only one who doesn't understand why you won't use a bigger back(Gray) in the redzone rather then Yearby?

The INT in the endzone, on the other hand, was either a case where a player ran the wrong route, or a horrible design. Overall, though, just glad to see some WRs running free underneath routes. Makes me cringe when people think our WRs are "horrible" partly because the routes aren't helping them create separation.

called a good game?

He had a guy that was getting 7 yards a carry and was still throwing it every down!

His playcalling is what almost cost us the game

Bringing in a back-up QB early in the 2nd when the starter is on a roll (and the game is nowhere near in hand) was really quite incompetent.

He's good at identifying QBs. Beyond that, I don't know what value he brings.....

They clearly don't trust Gray, which a **** shame. I really like him.
Well to be fair he fumbled last and while he didn't technically fumble against bcc he did lose the ball a couple times. Maybe he does in practice too.

Overreaction to risk. It's our overall leadership tendency. If you don't trust him getting consistent carries yet, put him out in the slot the way Georgia does to Sony Michel. I'd like to see 2 of the 3 RBs on the field at the same time more often.

He probably fumbles in practice plenty. Multiple practice report videos show him laying the ball on the ground.
