Jamel Cook to FSU

DB recruiting has been a nightmare for two straight years. With Golden/D'Onofrio/Williams being retained, there's no reason why anyone should expect that to change.

Tyler Byrd is an elite talent, so we'll see if we can hang onto him. But unfortunately the likes of Cook, Saivion Smith, Trayvon Mullen, Malek Young, DCW (staff won't even offer because he's 5'10"), and many others will tell this staff to f*** off. Just like J.C. Jackson, Carlton Davis, Davante Davis, Tim Irvin, and a host of other local DBs have done recently. And the reason for that will be blatantly obvious to anyone who isn't burying the heads in the sand.

guess the central pipeline is with FSU, until ink hits paper, that goes for our commits too

louisville in the lead lmao

FSU recently won a national title, had a 20+ game win streak, and made the first college football playoff. Anyone that has a clue about football SHOULD care who FSU is plucking from right under Golden's nose. In our own backyard!!

The 6’3 200 pound safety holds offers from FAU, Louisville, Miami and USF, but it the Hurricanes are the team to beat at the moment.

“UM is on top. I like their DB’s and the way they swarm to the ball. They’re just showing me the most love; they wish me good luck every game and they want me to come out for the UM FSU game this Saturday which I will be there.”

From 11-09-14.

The rangy defensive back says that Miami, Louisville, UCF, USF, and South Carolina are recruiting him the most right now. He also added that the hometown Hurricanes lead for his services.

“I like their secondary a lot. It’s between them (Miami), Louisville, and South Carolina right now.”

Cook added that he would like to “wait it out” in regards to the recruiting process. He says that he wants to see all of his options in person before making a decision.

For now though, the Canes have put themselves out in front.

“I love the new campus at Miami and there’s a guy named Eric Josephs who showed me around and I really like how small the classes are and I will get to learn more. All I need to decide is what I will major in.”

We can be on kids first and they still won't choose us. We recruited Gibson, Sony, and others since freshman year. They may or may not commit early, but in the end they will go where they truly want to be. Whether it's UM, FSU, UGA, or wherever. We still need to be the first to offer these kids, but offering two days after louisville isn't going to make or break a recruitment. In addition to this, we were the first major school to offer a lot of our current commits this cycle (Burnett, Henson, Wiggins, Camp, etc.) We also offered Cedric Wright, Dionte Mullins, Shaq Quarterman, etc. MONTHS after major programs (Auburn, OSU, Tenn, etc.) and they're still committed to us.

Granted if we don't win games this year the class will crumble like a house of cards, but I have little issue (No K. Thomas offer, no DCW offer) with how we've recruited during THIS cycle. The past three cycles I've had a very, very long list of complaints.

The MAIN point of this post is to state that we aren't losing kids because we offering slightly late.

This and plus cook has been saying Louisville was leading for him for past 4 weeks I believe..

To be fair though, this kid went from naming Miami his leader, to Louisville, to FSU. Somehow I doubt this is done lol

I agree. On NSD he will choose wherever he feels is best at the time. It could be fsu it could be Miami. FSU just got him to commit so he can secure a spot up there. But my main point is Cook isn't going to be thinking on NSD, "Did Louisville, FSU, or Miami offer me first?"
