I do remember that we were hot on his trail but I don't remember if he committed. I would probably not remember him at all if his name didn't sound like brisket.

Muschamp was able to hold onto Driskel after Meyer left.

Hired Weis and the first recruit who he wanted, because he said he needed a drop back QB, was Brissett.

Weis left for KU after one season, Brissett plays sparingly in the two years he's at UF before leaving, Driskel...well we saw how that turned out. He got ruined.

At the end, he definitely wanted to hangout with his buddies at UF regardless. But if you get in earlier, maybe that doesn’t happen.

I see what you’re saying but I think it was a combination of him being all UF and we had Teddy Bridgewater. He wasn’t better than Teddy and like I said I believe he was considering greyshirting for UF. A QB of that stature doesn’t have to grey shirt anywhere... We also were only going to take 1 QB at that time. So that’s why Randy didn’t go after him (probably wasn’t high on him either). I liked Jacoby but I think he was always better in spread offense anyway. NCST was the best move for him. He was able to display his true skills. UF hasn’t been good for a pure passing QB since Chris Leak and we were dysfunctional with the Randy & Al Golden hires.

Driskel actually killed it once he left UF. I think Louisiana Tech. All their QBs did well once they transferred into other programs.
