But where is the player development?

I can't think of 5 people who significantly improved under the staff; Brandon McGee and Thurston Ambrister are the only players that I think of. That alone should have gotten Golden & Co. canned.

You could say Walford and you wouldnt be wrong and even argue Perryman as well but this is one of the many flaws with Golden. He had success at Temple because he can coach up 3 star kids but does not know how to develop, motivate or push guys like Bush, McCord, Coley, Thomas, Howard etc...

Perryman was better as a freshman. He exploded off the screen. Folden bloated him up and took away his explosiveness.

Perryman, Walford, Duke, Grace, Gus Edwards, Dorsett, and even Kaaya haven't improved? That's weird because I don't remember Perryman and Walford as award runner ups each of their previous 3 years..

I agree thats why a prefaced what I said about Golden. The most ironic part of the Folden mess IMO is our best year as a defense top to bottom was his 1st in 11' when we ran a 4-3 mostly. Had Perryman at 215 at OLB and Chick at 245 rush DE. SMH

I'll give you Walford and that's about it although you could argue that Coley utilized him a lot more. Kaaya is a true freshman and improved simply because of experience; much like the other guys you mentioned. Duke is the same besides the 20lbs gain. Grace just got an opportunity and thrived in it(if you're a Dolphins fan its much like Jelani Jenkins). Edwards produced against mediocre defenses. Dorsett finally got a QB that could deliver the ball deep.

No one has really developed into an All-American type of player since Golden arrived besides Duke and Walford.

Player development isn't one of the pillars.

Actually it is...he doesn't use the term "development" explicitly. AG chooses to masks "development" under terms such as meal plans, body weight, and reps at 225lbs.

I also agree that DP bulked up too much. 225-235 would be the max for him...245 is borderline pudgy. He still managed to perform well because he is an incredible player but AG almost ****ed it up. Cant wait until he gets to the NFL and gets some reall coaching. He is going to be insane!

I hope you are not serious with this statement. This is the dumbest post I have seen from you.

He is in prime size for the NFL for his height. Yeah, the NFL really wants 5'11 215 Linebackers?

I like the Golden attacks from you, but lets at least keep some bias in your posts.

Playing next to great players always helps. There should always be great players on UM's team.
