IT WAS A GREAT RIDE!

Shocking that the Herd members are down-voting my original post.

For years the Herd/Mob members have gleefully back-slapped one another (taking credit) for bringing down Al Golden that was so brutal to the overall program we've become Tennessee (yes, I know, most of you won't understand the Tennessee reference). They brag about their banner plane air force (see Butch Davis).

Yet, now, they are back to their old tricks, only today they claim that no one pays attention to the various message boards and their actions have done NO damage to the Canes brand over the past years. This laughable claim tells me the Herd/Mob is aware that they've burned the program to the ground. As Jackie Gleason exclaimed; har har hardy har har.

He's not completely wrong. This board is unreadable. I stopped posting on here a couple of months ago, only check in now for recruiting/coaching staff info but reading threads is pointless/disgusting. It's the same people that hate every hire unless it's their guy, and **** on everything about the program, running around saying they told us so because we had a bad season.

This notion that all fan bases are populated with ********, douchebags and losers like ours isn't true. All may have their outliers but ours is full of these types. Just click on any thread. Do you think Wisconsin's fans are calling for Chryst's job after a similarly poor season? Doubtful.

We will never have the success we want if we are flying banners and crying for everyone to be fired every 3 years.

I know this post will have zero impact on this board but just wanted to give my .2. Resume with your pitchforks and banners.

Go Canes

Atrocious porst

It is my suspicion Manny knew that sooner or later he would be shoved into the Herd's XYZ coach sucks barrel. He experienced this last season and most probably concluded his brand would be significantly diminished down-line if he even had one bad defensive game for the Canes.

I had hoped he would take a longer view believing over the next several years or so he would be the likely successor to Coach Richt. Also, I think that taking the Temple job is a significant risk to his head coaching future if he doesn't hit it out of the park. Having a cursory understanding of who surrounds and advises him my aforementioned concerns, amongst others, must have been considered. It appears his cost/benefit analysis came down to...get the **** out of Dodge while the gettin' is good!

You see this when a fan-base burns a football program to the ground in their quest to get a head coach fired. It has been proven time and again that the Herd becomes dispirited after a Canes win and inexplicably ecstatic after a loss. The number of posts immediately after the Canes beat Virginia Tech and then Pittsburgh (a get even game) were far lower than the posts following a Canes loss. Although, during the following days after those wins, the Herd attacks on Coach Richt intensified along with various facets of said games. The goal was to discredit those wins, thus discredit Coach Richt.

I have loved the Canes Football Program since the tender age of 8 years old, and as has been said by others in my station of life, I no longer buy green bananas. Yet, if I were a young, talented coach or for that matter a seasoned, successful coach not looking for a place to retire, based on the fact that the Canes Football Program has been hijacked by those not rational or knowledgeable enough to recognize the damage they have done, is currently doing and will almost certainly continue doing, I would not accept a job with the program under any circumstance. Miami Hurricanes football has become a place for football coaches futures to die.

Mark Richt will be the 5th head coach in a row (I count Butch Davis) that the Herd tore to shreds one time or another during their tenures with the Canes. Mark Richt will also be the 5th head coach to exit the program after learning that when you have a fan base who for 24 hours, 7 days a week publicly claim that every aspect of the Canes football program is pure garbage even while winning 10-straight games, winning the first ACC Coastal since joining the ACC and being picked to play in a major bowl. This little 'golden nugget of truth' will not be lost on other potential head coach hires (or defensive coordinators) knowing that in today's social media, which recruits heavily rely upon when deciding the school they are going to commit too, makes building an enduring, winning program an impossibility.

Now, this post will give the Herd members the joyous opportunity to post negative comments, insulting names, derogatory memes, online temper tantrums, downvotes, etc. directed at Coch Richt and yours truly. But, for those who stop to thoughtfully consider my words, I ask you to read those comments as they will bolster my case. Oh, before I forget, blaming Coach Richt for Manny's departure is convenient and follows the normal pattern around here, but is complete and utter nonsense!

As has been said; All things must come to an end, and in this case, it simply did not have to end this way.

Earnest let me first commend you on your writing skills, while I may not agree on all of your points, I enjoy the writing style.
The fan base on CIS is an impatient one who if as old as I am has lived the good years and wants them back. I agree with you that there is alot of negativity but I believe it's warranted. The Herd of which you speak is the culture here on CIS, and if you do not agree with them maybe you should consider "All things must come to an end" as in saying goodbye to CIS... or you can be a masochistic and stay.
Merry Christmas dude! Hang in there.

We've had 15 years of complete mediocrity. Even our so called magical 10 win season last year ended in disappointment, getting beat by a terrible Pitt team, getting destroyed by Clemson, losing our bowl game to Wisconsin.
This year 7-5. Losing to terribad teams again.

But yeah, we should sit back and accept mediocrity. Lazy coaching hires, lazy recruiting, ineffective player development.

Wow! Yet another one of your brilliant responses. I offer my opinion, you almost instantly ride in bellowing "STFU"...again, just brilliant!

Clearly, you embrace todays culture when trying to stop those you disagree with from voicing their opinions.

Trying to silence those who hold differing opinions is one of the unmistakable, glaring characteristics of a Herd/Mob. Based on your brilliant intellect I am certain that you can quote chapter and verse how that approach has concluded throughout history.

I have purchased as Christmas gifts 100 matching pairs of purple sneakers for you Herd members.

SHUT THE **** UP.

SHUT THE **** UP.
Again, you are so articulate. Let me guess...you are on a full ride academic scholarship at UM.

Your stunning brilliance makes one forget about Einstein and Hawking. "SHUT THE **** UP", words that will motivate people for generations to come.

It's an honor of a lifetime to be allowed to communicate with a true genius...thank you!

7-5 year 3 in the ACC Coastal with more talent than every team in the coastal we lost to combined.

Zero changes made. You tell me who has a problem the fan base or the coach?

Ok Earnie, i’ll admit that you’re an incredibly intelligent and articulate person who really has no contemporaries on this entire board, if, you would just STFU. Please?
