He had 1 return this season and nearly broke it. He almost had the game winningTD return in a playoff game, and tripped himself. He had multiple other return chances where he legit was unlucky. One his teammate knocked him over or he would've scored a td.

Toney is a threat to score a TD any time the ball is in his hands. He will eat this year when he gets chances

I don’t see Santana, Hester, Buchanan, Parrish or Kelvin Williams in Mali

Many don’t want to hear that .. but you right.

Mali is only really back there to fair catch 95% of the time. That’s not on him tho, I believe the coaching staff would rather him just fair catch than to risk a fumble.

They had Restrepo doing the same thing, he was only back there to fair catch it .

And before him, Berrios did the same thing but atleast he would try to take off every now and then.

All three guys are guy security blankets to ensure we don’t fumble.

I consider myself a punt return expert..lol

What you described was a great team effort with blocking that set up the wall for those returns.

An elite returner splits the seam. Catch the ball, make a cut and accelerate through the seam. I have not seen Mali do that yet

And to me, it’s not the fact that he will double move u to death. It’s the fact that on run plays he will maul u to death with his relentless blocking. Guy prob had more pancakes than any of the OL does.

some that Mali has done is to fair catch very short punts, rather than letting them hit the ground and roll for 10-20 yards. He fielded two of them yesterday at the 40. good adjustment
