That a player from Miami Central now holds the rushing record by a Nole in our series. Yet another record for Al and company that they don't want.

Now before someone says we should've never let him get away, let's remember where FSU was the year he picked them. They had just won a MNC and were the odds on favorite to repeat. No excuse, it was just reality as we were trying to resurrect our once proud program.

Still, a Miami Central guy running all over us. ****.

said it last year n got killed for it.....when they got Cook they won for those 3 years. Recruting is what wins games, without Cook they do nothing for 2 years hes dat big time. LOL at dudes sayin Duke was better, they know nada

AG lost this game on NSD since he got here............Cook was the biggest blow. But but he didnt start over Yearby lol fkin retards

It's frustrating seeing a whole bunch of Miami guys play against us period. Goal was to always lock down home, first, then cherry pick from other states. Golden decided to fly out to the East Coast first, then let the home kids know we were interested in them. Completely backfired in our face. Instead of us having So Fla pipelines, we were known for the Jersey pipeline. It hurts seeing so many kids grew up as Canes fans now playing against us.

The way I see it, Jimboob owes Fat Al a nice Hallmark this Christmas. Without Al Bortion down here ****ing all over himself, Jimboob would have an empty trophy case.

my question is if cook stayed home and played for miami, would he have been the monster he is while playing under the "cloud" and for this abomination of a coaching staff? or does his talent transcend the strong stench of this staff?

Its more than just recruiting that wins you games, yea you will have great years but in the end its coaching that makes the team go all the way

We're never going to keep all the Miami kids in Miami. It sucks, but that is the reality now. Some kids want to go away for school. I don't know how close Cook was to going to Miami, but I'm not surprised kids leave. That said, we do need a higher hit rate than we currently have. That is why we need a new coach

We'll never know, and good on Cook to never find out.

Playing for Golden is career suicide.

Cook wouldn't have made any difference if he played for the "U". Only help would be for our staff to coach FSU..

He committed to Clemson in 2012 and UF in 2013.....Cook wasn't going to play for Al and trolled him before he signed with FSU.

we could have contained or at least slowed down Cook if we had quality DL but we don't. FSU does. And looking at the respective defensive coaches and DL schemes, if you were a top shelf DL recruit who would you want to play for?

Wrong. Coaching wins games. Miami has more talent than every team on the schedule but for FSU. And even then Miami almost beat the more talented FSU team - but - coaching once again cost Miami a victory.

Look, no one will ever completely stop a guy like Cook but a competent staff could design schemes that could contain him to an extent and get some defensive stops here and there. However, the Miami coaching staff is brain dead and we see the result. Miami players on defense are never put in a position to succeed.

Golden and staff could've had an entire defensive lineup of "5 star" players and the result would have been exactly the same - a FSU win on the back of Cook. I have never seen such poor coaching.

Miami will always have talent - upgrade the coaching/Xs & Os and Miami will win big, both on the field and in recruiting.
