3-1 top of 4, don't know how VCU scored as I am at work, but fielding is shoddy this inning as we have made two consecutive bad throws to first. 2 outs, would have been out of the inning.

This pitchers slow pitches is making the hitters quess too much, they should be used to it after seeing that columbia pitcher, but it is hard to read those types of pitchers if you dont see them in the norm

While true, all they have to do is keep their hands back and be more patient. This is dang near BP speed. Don't try to kill the ball, just put a good solid swing on it.

And this Howie kid for VCU that's on the bump has a herky-jerky style windup. I think that's throwing off their timing more than anything, not necessarily the speed.

can someone post a stream that is not through watch espn? I cant watch because my att u verse will not cooperate. someone come in clutch.

This rain delay blows it's barely sprinkling and I've yet to see lightning anywhere In the area.

Having played myself its different especially when the kid has a lot of movement and changes speed on ya, his delivery isnt that strange because you have a good idea when hes throwing after the first couple, kinnel said something thats true when you are used to seeing these fast paced pitching when someone comes on here and throws like this it throws you off

You're not the only one that's played, buster. I have too.

It's like facing a knuckleballer, really. It's gonna float in there, you just have to stay back and not try to kill it. Time it as best you can, square it up as best you can, and put a nice smooth swing on it. When you try to kill it is when you miss it.

Difference is, this isn't a knuckleballer...he's just changing speed as Kannell said from "slow, slower, to slowest". The most it's going to do is drop out of the zone. Anything slower in the zone should be easy enough to hit.

It's all a moot point now though--I'm guessing both starters are finished after this weather delay.
