This is much worse than Butch's first few years and Shannon's tenure....

Next year will be worse...but right now yes we're in the moment.

Next year will be better because each day that goes by we'll be a day closer to AG getting fired. But yes, this is the worst the program has been in over 30 years. Worse than the Shannon years, IMO.
at least Shannon won some big games. His problem was coming out flat against inferior teams. With golden he does than and get blown out in the big games. Not to mention nobody likes him...

This staff will break its own record. I dont think we have seen AG's full potential of failure. We shall tho

Lower than USF loss since we knew Randy was fired. UM has no leverage to deal with Al and he is ******* us. He needs to go he hasn't earned more time.

Born in 81, fan as long as I can remember and this is the lowest for me.

2015 will be the first year I'm won't look forward to the season when it comes around

Will always look forward to seeing the boys play but I can't support golden. I respect the kids and fans not the coaches or administration

I've been a fan since the very early 50s. The 70s were definitely the low point, but this has the same feel in that I see no light at the end of the tunnel.

Without a ****** doubt. Other than tricking myself to think that news of that ****** Fat Al being fired will be on here this is the only time and thing i will do that involves the Canes. RIP.

Since Schnelly raised the expectations of the program, yes. This is absolutely the low point...to date. Next year will be worse.

You can argue that Coker and Shannon should've been fired sooner, but they were given one last chance after 9-win seasons. Golden is inexplicably getting a lame duck season. I've never seen anything like it.

Closest I've ever seen is with legendary coaches way past their prime, and the AD is afraid to pull the trigger.

I'm 46 and have been a Cane all my life. Started going to the OB around 1980. I've seen it all. The build up, the first championship with Howard, the hiring of JJ and first year going 8-5 and everybody was saying WTF. Then the Ferrari got going and didn't stop until 93. What a ride it was for 7 straight years. The best! Butch steps in and we know what is coming. The news comes down, and I felt like I lost a family member. Truly felt the program would not recover back then. 5-6 and losing to FSU was probably the lowest point at that time.

The rebirth in 1998. You can start feeling it. Go up to the Meadowlands and watch my Canes beat up on OSU. 1999-2002 were magical. Second lowest point was being in Tempe and dealing with the robbery in the desert. To this day, I've not watched a replay of the game other than the play.

By 2004, Coker was done. Everybody knew it but they gave him one more year. He was dead man walking. Radio steps in 2006 and you felt some hope.Former Cane, local kid that made it. First year a pass. Second year, it was ok. Third year, and you start sensing something is wrong. By the end of year, Shannon haters were in full swing. I wanted to give 4 years. Was really hoping he would turn it around. Unfortunately it didn't turn out that way. Frustration and disappointment is what I felt.

In comes Golden. Seems to have good resume. Learned from some good coaches, so I figured hey this could work. The news about Shapiro hits. Before opening game, a bunch of kids are suspended and we go on to lose the game at Maryland. Golden's first year was a complete waste. Second year I'm excited. Have some young guys, especially Duke who I saw in HS a couple of times and felt he was going to be special. The second year frustration settles in with Shapiro because of no resolution and it seems that it's all anyone wants to talk about. Even Golden.

The third year comes around and the Shapiro mess is over. New beginning is what I'm thinking. Have a sr QB in Morris with Duke, good OL, and solid group of wr's. Well, the season turns out to be disappointing. Yes, beating UF was great, but we floundered down the stretch.

The fourth season. Veteran team is coming back with a sr QB in Ryan Williams along with Olsen plus a Frosh that many are raving about. Spring ball and Williams goes down. I'm thinking to myself, can we not catch a break! Then Olsen goes gangsta on us and completely fizzles on the team. Left with a transfer in Heaps and a true Frosh. Man, don't know what to think. I'm thinking that we would start out the gate a bit slow but start picking things up. Well, unfortunately the season never picked up. In fact, the opposite. After the GT loss, I truly believe the kids quit on Golden. Not that they were not playing hard but they quit in terms of not believing in what Coach was preaching. After each loss, more doubt settles in. Ultimately, after the FSU loss, the kids lost it. I called the next losses to a friend of mine. Said to him we would not win another game.

Sadly, this is the worse I've felt as a fan for the last 34 seasons. Not just for the lack of excitement. execution, and winning, but that reality has set in wondering if we will ever be good again. Not having the support from the University, President, and Trustees. I've never felt like this before, doubting the actual commitment.
