I started college in the fall of 1983, and went to Miami for undergrad and med school. I watched the literal beginnings of our dominance from the stands of the OB. The last time I remember Miami getting any sort of favorable treatment, albeit well deserved, was that final 1983 ranking.
Since then I’ve seen TDs magically become fumbles and NCs erased by phantom penalties. We’ve lived through a fake NCAA investigation that was exposed as fraud and thrown out, snubbed from BCS spots, ACC refs that don’t even seem to hide their bias.
Is this the first time since January of 1984 that Miami actually was treated fairly? It’s a weird feeling, because I was fully prepared to be hosed today.
