Is Mario soft on the players?

A lot of the discourse when Mario came in was he didn’t tolerate any BS and would go in on players who made mistakes and were undisciplined. I remember seeing him light up Kam Kitchens for celebrating early on a play in his first season. Now we see repeated needless penalties and stuff like that and I never see him really get angry. For people in the know is Mario allowing like a country club Coker style atmosphere?
