Will Jon Richt be counting against the NCAA cap on position coaches?

Yes, he was a QB and Quality Control coach in Buffalo. He knows what he is doing and is not a token hire.

Other than the title "offensive assistant" being vague / non-traditional, there is no differentiation between Jon Richt and the other assistants in the announcement.

So is this just another open question that won't be answered until we introduce either 2 or 3 new coaches?

No one knows for sure. But it seems like he's going to be a coach from the title he got and the press release. If he was in an administrative capacity, they probably would have noted that.

I think Richt Jr. will either coach the TEs or the WR. I think it all depends on the position that the other Co OC will coach. When Richt Jr. first was announced I checked and he was following all of our TEs.
