When Alphonse is finally shown the door, and he will be eventually, would you consider looking at Minnesota's Jerry Kill as a possible replacement? In his 40's, he boosted Northern Illinois to MAC title , (yeah, I know, it's the MAC) and now has taken a doormat like the Gophers to a higher level (at least they beat Nebraska).
That part of the country doesn't exactly scream NFL talent like Florida does, how do suppose he would do here? Thoughts, opinions, Bronx Cheers?

yeah, he did a few years ago at Northern Illinois, not sure about last year in Minnesota. He seems to have it under control this year though, new medication, maybe?

not a bad hire, actually.

I have family in Minnesota and they absolutely love him up there. They were atrocious and he has them a win away from the Big Ten title game. And he beat Nebraska in Nebraska. Just don't see him leaving the North. Has always coaches up there.

That's a shame....unlike Folden, who seems to excel at doing less with more, Kill reminds me of a younger version of David Cutcliffe, guys who instinctually get more out of their players and just win.

Minnesota has a putrid player pool. He has excelled at locking down the best Minnesota has to offer. Makes the top guys a priority something Golden hasn't done.

No Jerry Kill. I don't want a coach that needs a medical team on the sideline staring at him waiting for the next crises. But, I guess he goes on the menu of flavor of the day since they won last weekend.

25-24 Jerry Kill?

Can we just pretend to be a real program and hire a real coach? Butch Davis.
At Minnesota has beaten Nebraska twice in a row. And he built the Northern Illinois team that went to the Orange Bowl.

His track record of turning around mid majors is decent, but In 21 years of coaching he's won his conference outright twice(N Illinois and S Illinois).

He finished 4th or worse 10 times.

Enough with the projects, go get Rich Rod, Butch, even Gundy would do. Someone who's been there, knows what it takes and just needs our talent pool to do it.

Kill can coach....anyone that turns around Minn. has to be a good coach. This isn't Temple in the MAEC with more resources than all the comp, this is the Big10.

He's good coach just not at Miami. Better suited to coach up north in the Big Ten. Wouldn't mesh well with the area. Much like Golden.
