Its odd and unhealthy for everyone else who does not match the passion or the drive that you have for doing that sport. People wonder about Michael Jordan and his mentality of playing basketball simply because they haven't done it that way. That accounts for people who don't participate the sport and for athletes who simply do not share that mindset.
I know a lot of people who don't follow or watch soccer and they don't understand why I and many others play it. And it's a waste of time explaining it because they wouldn't understand why.
At the same time, it can become odd and unhealthy for us as well. If we follow and participate in a sport where we ignore both physical and mental borders and damage our body both short and long-term, its becoming unhealthy. And that correlates to not necessarily sucking all the time (pause), but more to being good and just not getting it done at the end when it matters.
