I don't think the talent and play gap between VT and Clemson is much as people are making it out to be


VT is a better defense as a whole and we did just fine, OL needs to show up and play but not like we're going against an NFL team or something here

I don't buy that. VT had a solid line, but Clemson's DEs are going to give us nightmares. Isn't Clemson like the overall top defense in the country right now?

This game, like most, will be won or lost at the line of scrimmage. If we can pass protect and get the ball out quick we have a real good shot here. If not it's going to be a long saturday night. The offensive line needs to play the game of their lives, and mark richt needs to have a good gameplan to get the defense to hesitate.

We need to let their speed and power rush work in our favor. Let them take themselves out of the play. Think the Eagles did it this pass weekend where they let the bears dL rush pass the play then bblock them even further out of it

If someone is looking for a silver lining, just remember FSU's OL is worse than our OL and they had a puncher's chance. Make it happen.

Lu, the only silver lining will be if Clemson chooses to use a magnum silver colored condom when they push the sh*t so far up our guys' rectums, they will need to floss it out of their teeth. I try and be optimistic, but the clear thinking realist in me says the chances are pretty good we get embarrassed on national TV.

Clemson had 2 National Champion caliber teams with a pro QB the last 2 years.
They won by a touchdown in each of the last 2 ACC championship games.

Anything can happen.

Only realistic way to stem a DL like Clemson's is to do to them what teams do to us:

- Hurry up
- Spread out
- Misdirection
- Quick pass game

Richt's creativity will be needed more than it has ever been during his time at Miami.

This reminds me of the old Happy Days episode where Richie is scheduled to fight a local hoodlum and asks Fonzie for advice. Fonzie tells him to punch the guy as he's taking his coat off, Richie responds by saying so if I trick him I can beat him, Fonzie replies no you're gonna get killed but you can get at least one good shot in.
