Interesting video praising and critiquing the UM offense vs UF...

Going slow gives #3 and #4 time to rest and destroy. Good plan.

And the rest they got allowed both of them to play 52 of the 52 snaps the gator ran.

Neither one of them were off the field for a single snap.

Allowing them to rest, and also the total ineptitude of that gator offense, allowed this to happen. Your best players were on the field for every single snap.

Remove the penalties on our center and the game likely gets out of hand by half. Remove the early whistle and it is also out of hand. Those three things aren’t common.

I still think the offense hasn’t fully clicked BUT we have played the teams that were ranked at one point or another for good reason. UF sucks as a team but has rankable talent. USF could end up ranked again. Nd remains ranked if they just keep winning. The back 7 of our schedule plays well into getting our offense going and getting more reps for the 2-3s on D.

ALL OF THIS. Also you dont get reps for younger guys because opponent can hang around and the score isnt wide enough.. Like I mentioned before, the method works for Mario in big games but every year he gets clipped in a game he shouldnt lose. He can take UO into Ohio St and slap them up, but then they get clipped by Stanford. Its a method that leaves you vulnerable..

We DOMINATED the gators and then found ourselves nervous after they had ONE productive drive, their offense was non existent.. How about if we play a team with an actual QB and offense?
I think the point is you adjust going into each game based on opponent and during the game. With that said, the way that our defense is playing, I have not seen many teams in the country that will be able to light up the scoreboard against us. I guess we will somewhat see in Tallahassee in a couple of weeks.

The math of wanting to maximize possessions as the most talented team is critical but I like that he also mentioned mentality.

If you get too conservative and bleed the clock the mood of the game changes to "don't make a mistake" and now you have a multi-million dollar game manager with no swag.

The conditions were way worse than it showed on TV (this is much clearer in the cinematic recap. It was basically pouring all game long). I think the offensive gameplan was fine. Execution was the issue. I thought the second half vs ND was too conservative especially in light of how bad their secondary has proven to be.

No issue with the slower pace & run game dominance in wet conditions. Beck’s accuracy was definitely impacted & concerned every time he put the ball in the air. Will no doubt open things up as the season rolls along, but the way we’re calling games to this point is also beneficial to the defense.

i think since ND, we've been pretty bad in the middle 8 offensively, leaving windows for comebacks, can hurt us on the road

To a certain extent its not up to Miami. Winning the middle 8 starts with a coin toss and having the option to defer until 2H. But check the box scores and its pretty good.

Bethune 2Q 00:38 TD CJ Daniels 3Q 10:39 TD Fletcher
USF 2Q 02:33 TD Carson Beck 3Q *** USF Ball***
UF 2Q 01:38 FG Carter Davis 3Q Punt -- should have been Marty Brown TD

If you think Miami has been pretty bad I'm not sure what you are expecting.

Miami was fantastic in the middle 8 against ND. We got the ball with 5 minutes left in the half, took up all the time and scored a TD, then scored a TD on the first possession of the 2nd half. You literally cannot be any better. 14-0

Bethune who cares?

USF we were already up 21-6 but got the ball with about 5:30 left in the half, and scored a TD to make it 28-6. Forced a quick three and out and tried to add to the lead but Beck threw a pick. Forced another punt and ran out the half. USF got ball first out of the half, and we immediately forced a punt. Not sure how you're supposed to do better than that. But we won the middle 8 7-0.

Against the gator, my only gripe is we didn't score at the end of the half after having 1st and goal at the 6. That has to be a TD, but we had a procedure penalties inside the 10. Can't happen. So we settled for 3. Got the ball after the half and scored a TD that the refs stole. Should've been 10-0, but instead was 3-0.

So, in our 3 FBS games, we have won the middle 8 by a combined 24-0.

Other than that, we've stunk. Tell that guy to post more.

this guy who I've gotten to know is a former coach and is a Miami fan, for whatever its worth. I do think the wet conditions did play a part in how Miami played offensively this past weekend..

I appreciate that post, Steve. I don't like some things in the play calling this season either and that isn't Dawson making those choices. It would be nice to play a game without rain.

Im with you, and I personally think this offense hasn't come close to playing it's best game this season

I came here to see if this was posted and CIS delivered as expected. The guy hits on everything us "mopers" have been saying. Only, we're not moping, we're just stating observations. I stand by the fact that if you can score in 2-3 minutes. Do it. **** and get off the pot. I don't want to sit around in the bathroom smelling ****. Build your lead up, let the second team players get some game reps in against "good" teams. Limit injuries to starters.

At the same time...win the game. It really is a hard balance, but its not when you know you can score the points. And we know we can put 35+ a game on the scoreboard. Play the game to the final whistle.

Bama, Ohio State, UGA etc had greatt offenses that could score quick and their defenses was still pretty good. The clowns only point to Bama before Kiffin and Michigan who ******* cheated to win.

UGA averaged 38 ppg in 2021 which was in the top 10 and 41ppg top 5 the next year in this was in the SEC not the ****** ACC.

Keep seeing everyone mention is “slowing the game down ”. Only big difference this year so far is we aren’t scoring as much, no matter what style of offense you want you have to create explosive plays and finish drives with touchdowns to be a top offense

That methodical **** and leaning on our oline **** yall talk about is a much needed layer but it does not mean you have to put handcuffs on your offense once you get a lead just because you have a defense you trust. If anything having a great defense should make you more aggressive and get your offense more favorable possessions

Our style of play can and should continue to lead us to wins but it lowers our margin of inevitable errors by keeping the game unnecessarily close which can lead to to disappointing losses

Don’t bring your facts to my bad vibe party, pal.
