(although some stubborn mofos are digging in) I am going to change a long-held position when it comes to recruiting and taking back local portal players... (something I was vehemently opposed to)... Teaching them a lesson amount one of the reasons... however, I believe we should recruit the portal for local Stars we lost, who can contribute, just as hard as we do the high schools... Think about it for a second... We are limited to 25 scholarships... we can think of it as rent-free renting of space on Elite programs for them to develop and when they are ready to produce they come back to us...
Meanwhile, the local recruit got a chance to see the world, feed the family, and take up space on a roster... And when they return, once the novelty wheres off and reality life in those college towns versus South Florida metropolitan area they are used to sets in ... we welcome them and their images back to the fold... All for the better.

Hmm brave stance with this. I like the down to earth idea of it but definitely a case by case basis vs a blanket strategy

I will leave it to the coaches to decide on a case by case basis.

They know more than anyone who was serious, who chased bags, who was playing games and which ones were totally trolling during the recruiting process.

There isn't and shouldn't be a written in stone position on this. Each kid is an individual and should be treated like one.

When we begin to put points up on the scoreboard and play the attractive style of football we've wanted to come here for years that hopefully Lashlee will bring us, we will get plenty of local and National recruits that we want. Crootin will not be a problem for us.

Diaz and Miami are not in the business of teaching kids lessons, they are in the business of winning. Each player in the portal should be a case by case situation.

Coaches Decision but when the kids come back to visit their HS they can tell them Miami was the right choice from the beginning.

Who starts a sentence with parentheses?
Is that the only thing you took from his thought? OK, there are no or maybe just few scholars on here so manage your expectations. I see the grammatical errors but what's the benefit of trying to correct them.....on a message board.
What's your thought on his idea?

It's a viable route. The other added benefit is that player that was (in some cases literally) brought in from the cold can be a recruiting asset, warning others of what he experienced at his original, misguided destination.

Also agree with this. That lever should be pulled in the most optimum circumstances. Special players, special forgiveness to past recruiting misdeeds.
